Evisu is still loved!

Recommended Posts

im 5'8 165-170...yea the size 33 is loose on my waist, i can pull these all the way up to my belly button..

Well, If that's the case, then you should've sized down. Particularly to account for the oncoming stretch.

indigo junkie, does the button fly bulge out when you wear yours? mine has a a huge penis bulge when i wear mine..lol

Higher rise. Your pair appears to be a classic fit, and indigo's is a regular cut.

Can anyone tell me of a pair of evisus that have golden dragons in the shape of gulls on the back pockets? I saw a pair of these at a thrift store brand new for like $50. Their original tag said they were $355..

Now,most of Evisu was made in China, and lots of fake so I will not buy Evisu.

As I konw,Evisu No.1 is still made in Japan but No.2 was also made in China.

I like Evisu only when it was named "EVIS" or "Labor"^_^! Because Yamani nearly made it by himself.

Speaking of which, someone asked me if I could authenticate a pair of Evisu's. I don't know much about Evisu, but the only thing that looks off to me is the left rear pocket. It looks like it's kind of slanted, but that might just be the angle of the shot.

Do they look ok? I can't tell one way or the other.

Not entirely sure what you're talking about, but they make No. 2 versions in Japan as well. The chinese versions mostly (or entirel; not sure) use Japanese denim.

actually, evisu uses japanese denim in all of thier lines now... even EU i think

i think my evisu heritage are made in china... but the construction is top notch, and they are samples... so id imagine the retail ones are better.

i was just looking at the kobori site, where they mostly stock evisu and it seems like most of the denim of teh made in china evisu is the same as the yamane line, understandably. i just picked a random pair , http://item.rakuten.co.jp/kobori/10001477/ and the denim looks teh same as http://item.rakuten.co.jp/kobori/10001143/ which i got but didnt end up really liking so i gave away.

What was wrong with the Yamane denim? Besides the questionable back pockets ( in some instances), I thought it was affordable/quality denim. You're the second person, out of a small group of people who own a pair on here, who eventually came to dislike it. Doesn't sound good.......

the actual denim, warp, weft, whatnot, is good stuff, just the fit is kinda awkward and not very flattering. like im a bigger dude i wear a 34 so i ordered a 34 and they measured almost a 38 raw when i got em and they didnt shrink enough after a hot wash and hot machine dry. i gave em to my brother he wears a 36 and they look pretty good on him, but they seem like a bitch to fade, from what it seems hes worn them pretty hard and they dont look as faded as i would assume they would be.

Yeah, Evisu's are a bitch when it comes to fading. I've heard of these jeans showing marginal signs of fading after the first six months, in comparison to a brand like Nudie, for instance, which shows some extreme fades. Too many damn dips in the indigo vat I reckon. Yeah, but the fit sucks at times, and they need to offer an equal number of slim cuts.

Also, in my denim searches, I finally fount a pair of those wranglers everyone was interested in.

Saw these too:

These look almost exactly like the ones Levi's is charging an arm and a leg for. I assume they're greencast. Just thought some folks might be interested (price wise).

The most ironic thing about that is that you know the people wearing fakes will probably call genuine evis(u) jeans from Japan fakes if they saw them.

Indeed. I was reading this blog the other day, the author was pretending to be an Evisu expert. He wrote in bold, underlined letters that Evisus with a "red tab like Levi's" were fake..
