Evisu is still loved!

Found a pair of Evisus. Bought from Italy, would like an authenticity check on them.

Things I noticed are the lack of yellow seams and that some buttons say Style Craft on one side and Evisu on the other.

They could well be legitimate, as some of the models produced in Italy under license didn't use the 'usual' Evisu lot numbers, as far as I'm aware (I'm assuming that those are Italian-made, of course). I've got a pair of Italian Evisu from sometime in the 90s where the lot number is 10XZ, and whilst they're made of selvage denim they're not on the same level as Japanese or Heritage Evisu.

The ones I have show 'Evisu' on the buttons and top rivets, with 'Cobra-I-Original' on the rivet backs.

The gulls look closer to arctuates than the present-day designs too...I'll try and get some pics up when I get a chance...

^ I wish I'd thought about washing out that lot number right away. The ink bled right through the denim on my current pair.

I'm thinking I might already need a crotch reinforcement. Seems to wear off a little more each day. It's at the point where fabric is really pilling off. Sorry for the bad pic.

Anyone know of a good diy tutorial, or a tailor to recommend?

You could try here Jyoni for starters:

http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=40527

although I wouldn't be too confident in my own repair skills and would rather leave it to professionals. I found an old pair of Heritage jeans in a thrift shop way back when, and have kept them specifically for any future repairs that I (or someone else) may need to do.

I'm going to have similar problems I think with my Lot 2000 (yeah, the ones I said I was going to wear next year...). I soaked them a week and a half ago to see what I could do with the waist as it was smaller than tagged size. I managed to stretch it out nicely and the fit is superb, but the crotch is tighter in relation to the waist and is fading/wearing at a very fast rate. Going to be some lovely fading in no time at all, but it's definitely going to be something I'll need to keep an eye on...

how does the fitment run on the #2000 No.1 that BiG is selling? i have a natural waist of ~31 and ordered a pair of 32s from BiG hoping that after shrink/stretch they should be about right. do these really shrink the whole 2.5 inches that BiG claims? the only other remotely close size available is a 29 and i'm thinking that would be way too small. any help here? i wear a 31 in eternal 811 (fairly loose) and 29 in warehouse 660 if that helps at all.

Greetings! Been lurking around as a guest for a while.

Any way here's some pics of my evisu with purple gulls.

Just basic even fading, I just wore them and washed them - didn't know anything about raw, selvedge etc. I just knew that they were quality jeans.
