*Curious* Is that some sort of another sick pair of jeans like Cheep has?

I fucking wish lol, just a pair of Lot 2000 No.1 Specials that are coming my way.

Noticed when I was in London that there was a pair of No.1 jeans that were made in Macau. Lot 0004 (or 0005?), a kinda 'carpenter' cut of jeans with an extra panel of denim on the front, giving protection to the thigh/knees. Nice denim, but not quite the same as Japanese No.1 denim, can't quite explain why...

Some of the new designs were different, to say the least, with felt backpocket decorations.

This is the back of those Deluxe jeans now, the black paint doesn't show up too well but this should look better with time:

Left pocket says 'ichiban', right pocket 'ebisu'.

Very nice Cheep,

though I must say I'm a bit surprised at them putting the "Lazy S" on square pockets, but I'm also a big fan of the Lee backpocket shape.

How about other details? I see no tab on the right pocket, and what about and "unionmade" label on the inside of the left backpocket?

Finally, would you mind cross posting those in the Leepro thread?

Whoa! Anyone wants to proxy for me when this is released? Defintely on my "must buy" list for 09. Separately, I am curious if this is the same as the one found here, though the tag is different. http://tanakaya.pos.to/cgi-bin/eshop/evshopdat.cgi?SH=E&PT=b&CAT=JP2&ITM=!E22101

Worn relatively hard for a month, non-office hours only...Sanded the gulls right down as they were rubbery (possibly printed, using a stencil based on a handpaint job), with the intention of having them repainted very soon.

Pictures taken inside, with plenty of natural light and no flash:

In direct sunlight, for contrast:

First proper attempt to break dry denim, comments would be appreciated!

the ones with one lee pocket and one evisu pocket?

I was close with my guess..

the evisu blog is offline now somehow, but on it there is a video of the latest catwalk show (probably ss 09) where the ones I described in my previous post (see quote) can be seen. they carry the same leather label as cheeps leepro.

Getting good there. I like your fit pics. But 1 size smaller might be better maybe? what is your true waist size and that jeans waist size?

When you said repainted, does it mean you gonna send that pair all over to japan and have them repainted?

They're tagged 36x35, actual size 34x35.5, which is just right for me at the moment. They look at bit baggy in the arse and thigh because of the cut, Lot 2001.

The Evisu store in London offers the handpainting service; I'll be able to send or take them down there to be done.

envy you. Evisu is not that popular in australia. I only know 1 store selling evisus, and they place them in the corner. Hahaha. I also want to repaint my gulls logo :(

How many different cuts do evisus have btw?

do they sell no 1 jeans with handpainted gulls in the london store?? if so, damn it, didn't go last time I was in london :(

Im sure they do but they cut the red tabs off plus No.2 hand painted cost £250. So you dont want to but them there.

Nah, the only No.1 jeans they had there were made in Macau and they were prepainted. They did have some Japan-made No.2 denim with handpainted gulls, but I didn't ask if they'd been painted over here or pre-shipping.

Also the price for the No.2 jeans was prohibitive; even with a hefty discount they came in at approximately the price of a pair of Japanese No.1s.

here it is...

2001 - evisu basic cut, button fly, hidden rivet, gull back pocket

2002 - same as 2001, but with zipper fly

2000 - a little more straight silhouette compared to 2001

2000Z - 2000 cut with zipper fly

2004 - buckleback, slightly looser than 2001

2005 - slim straight, even slimmer than 2000, zipper fly

2017 - boot-cut, zipper fly

2101 - lee styled back pocket, but with white paint mark. left hand twill (!)

yamane deluxe - wrangler styled back pocket, very slubby denim with lots of neps.

the paris line

epc1459 - the reversible one

epc1468 - snake and gull back pockets

es04ew - low rise, white gull back pocket, buckle

epc1535 - 3 or 4 kinds of denim materials in one pair of jeans

epc1458 - the so-called spiral cut

epc1544 - the classic pants

epc1461 - large daikoku (daicock?) paint at the back, side pockets on both knees

epc1460 - patched daikoku at the back

epc1457 - the 21 pockets (yucks)

epc1447 - plain back pockets, slight flared bootcut

epc1463 - crane and gull back pockets

hope that helps

And that's for you, Calvin...don't think that list's exhaustive though, as I saw a Lot 0455 when I was there...
