Cheap, must spread man, but every time I see your pics I get the urge to watch Fully Flared. I wish I wasn't too old and knackered to skate properly.

Went to visit Fallingwaterr today with some friends. Unfortunately couldn't take pictures during the tour, so all of my shots are from the outside. :(

started in the west village:

5583843601_b6ba05e77a_z.jpg

then took the subway back to brooklyn

5584529385_5dc3b1f8e8_z.jpg

and went down to Red Hook, which has some old shipping cranes

5583848761_aa4f914981_z.jpg

and some new parks

5584537789_3f5a4974fa_z.jpg

then found some aged street art:

5584381088_28df322bf5_z.jpg

(Both of those are by the same person, named Elbow Toe)

And found some stencils

Then went back down to the water to check out the abandoned street cars that are down there

Went for lunch in Hayes Valley- used to be the heart of black San Francisco, now gentrified into a white-lady in SVU thoroughfare.

Shopgirl (a freind of mine) at Peace Industries- selling beautiful felted wool rugs made in rural Iran. Or, made there until the embargo. Now production is moving to Turkey.

Went for a bike ride. Snow is finally almost melted.

IMG_0813.jpg

Because of it, however, the river is way higher than usual. Looks pretty badass, though it's hard to tell in the picture.

IMG_0815.jpg

And AS I was taking this picture, my front tube popped (it was old and shitty).

IMG_0814.jpg

After that I had to walk about 3.5 miles so I got kind of pissy and stopped taking pictures.

SInce my ancestors are mostly from South China and I am going to school in Beijing my friends and I did something. These pics are from the past few days so enjoy the show!

^ Awesome Forbidden! This thread can never have too many pics!!

This weekend, we had some friends visiting in town, and we spent a bit of time hanging out at the distillery district.

e64c988f.jpg

The site was once The Gooderham and Worts Distillery, and represents the largest and best preserved collection of Victorian Industrial Architecture in North America.

Gooderham and Worts ceased operations after 153 years. During the '90s, The Distillery became the number one film location in Canada, and the second largest film location outside of Hollywood. Over the years, more than 1700 films used the site.

Today, The Distillery and its more than 40 buildings have been restored, and transformed into a pedestrians-only village, entirely dedicated to arts, culture and entertainment.

The old co-exists alongside the new:

Lots of beautiful brickwork and restored wooden trim:

Nature is always fighting to reclaim lost ground!

Lots of good bistros ( still a bit chilly to sit outside) and little shops

Memorabilia from days gone by can be found at every turn

I was particularly taken with some old trucks

I'm pretty sure the little sparrow on the driver side door makes his home here!
