not that it matters that much but the F-14 was the Tomcat. The F-15 was an Eagle I believe. Good eye though. To bad the F-14 is going the way of the dodo, it was a great jet.

I wondered because I thought that all the F-14's were being decommissioned. Not sure if they are letting them stay around for training or what but it's kinda sad that NAS Miramar got changed to a Marine base and then they are getting rid of the Tomcat. Maverick and Goose would be very sad.

Typo? F-14s are the Tomcats and F-15s are the Eagles. F-15 would be correct though, there are no F-14 squadrons in Japan (and both USAF and JASDF fly F-15s)

yuki removed all the carpet from the floor of the store. i'm planning on putting in a simple wooden floor. we've been getting a lot of ideas from the books we got from kamida-san.

after teaching a mma class on base, i came back to the store where we were joined by hiro and his harley.

while we were talking outside the store, we heard some loud meowing nearby. right next to the store, we found this little baby kitten.

i gave it some milk.

later, we took a walk to the supermarket. on the way, we ran into this super pimped out taxi driver cat. check this out, he had a burgundy LA Gear jacket with matching 70's slacks. he had these white woven leather loafers on. he had a crazy slicked back pompadour hairstyle with some tough sideburns. dude was killing it, i had to ask him for the honor of taking his picture. apparently, according to his taxi driver friends, he plays a mean guitar too. i hope i run into this guy again sometime.

at the supermarket, i saw this kid walking around in full kendo attire. i asked his mom if i could take a picture of him. he looked like a little bad-ass. sorry for the poor picture, i hate it when i forget to take my camera off manual focus.

one nice thing about japanese supermarkets is that you can buy inexpensive sashimi.

we live a couple doors down from a very popular american-style strip club. we spotted our friend, Dr. BJ, going in there with a couple women. apparently, they wanted to see what an american-style gentlemen's club is like and so he dutifully offered to escort them.

BJ is a very interesting person. he is a heart surgeon who moved here a few months ago. he adopted the name BJ after the comic book character Black Jack. the comic book BJ is this underground mystery surgeon who goes around operating on people with these crazy illnesses.

okinawa's Dr. BJ is similar to his comic book counterpart except that he consumes a LOT more beer (but not when he's operating).

i found a baby yaaru in the bathroom. they are small lizards that are related to the gecko. in okinawa, they are considered deities, so you are not supposed to kill them! they protect your house and bring good luck. i like them because they are cute and they eat bugs. i hate bugs!

this morning we go this package in the mail.

ha, 'no reservations' is one of my favorite shows of all time. yuki and i thought about inviting mr. bourdain to okinawa. i'm sure he'd have a great time here.
