Depends on the onsen. I've been to really modern ones with Eames, Noguchi, and Starck furnishings with Aveda toiletries and old school ones where the royal family goto which happen to have the crappy tvs and crappy toiletries.

Fry off the beef, garlic and onions, add flour, tomato puree, home made blackcurrent jam, seasoning, fresh rosemary thyme, two bottles of guiness, half a pint of stock. In low oven for 3 hours and volia.
