Maybe not the best cars on the market, but offset hood bumps on the first- and second-gen Eclipses are absolutely timeless to me

Yes! .. one of the reasons i loved the Mk1 Honda CRX ..

I didn't get the bump on my later 1990 SiR VTEC but i did get something akin to driving a superbike B)

Bought this beauty. My ‘grail’ acoustic guitar. Martin D-28. I think it’s from around 2018.

In my 25 years of playing, I’ve purchased a few nice electric guitars but never a higher end acoustic. I’d been casually looking for a D-28 and then a family friend mentioned he was selling this one. He’d been gifted it by a family member but always found it too large to comfortably play. He sold this to me so he could get a 000-sized alternative and it worked out well for all of us.

Being able to buy a used guitar whilst knowing how well it had been cared for was an opportunity I couldn’t miss!

Looking forward to holding on to this one forever.

Beautiful. Nothing sounds like a Martin dread. I’d have one, but my shoulder doesn’t like them, so I’ve got a 000.

I bought myself a house in a town in the blue ridge mountains. I’m happy.

I would be too. Congrats! Some great towns and places around there. When I lived in NC I would get out to the parkway and the surrounding environs every chance I could get.

Since I’m here I’ll share my Leica m10-d.
This is, for my purposes, the best digital camera ever made. I could go on about why but I won’t. Maybe tied with the m10 monochrome (which I also use). I got this awhile back for a great deal and it had barely any shutter actuations on it. A gem of a find. It’s always laying around the house somewhere because I tend to use it every day or close to it.

There are newer cameras with better specs etc but they’re not better cameras.

@ATWM I have the great-grand-grandfather model of what you have, the only thing that is preventing me from pulling the trigger on digital Leica is the film experience of pulling the buttery frame advance lever & never really needing to concern myself with additional settings (+ the price also)

I used to use a pair of m6s, regrettably sold all my 35mm stuff in 2014-2015 as film just wasn’t viable for me anymore (the developing and scanning or printing was not accessible or cost effective and the quality argument became irrefutably lost to digital). Where I am now, strangely it feels viable again, good home scanning is way easier, and my local shop has an old m6 for a decent price, I’m tempted. But the m10d is in effect really no different, minus the advance - just the output is.

If you do decide to try a digital M I’d advise to skip the m11 series, but plenty of people love them.

MRs and Junior MJF9 grew this avocado plant from seed during lockdown, making it about 5 years old.  I read they can take 10 years to bear fruit.  However, in the north of Engerland it might be a stretch... we'll find out in 5 years... watch this space :)... (I'm no gardener but think it needs a bigger pot)

Ooh why?

A few things - the resolution is so high you need to handhold shutter speeds 3x or 4x the focal length to get reliably sharp images, which in real use mitigates the high iso performance. It’s just too much resolution for a camera designed for a sort of quick handheld shooting. The pixel binning feature doesn’t meaningfully reduce the visibility of camera shake, it’s not the same as a native lower resolution sensor.

Leicas are always finicky but the firmware bugs in the m11 series are notorious at this point, cameras bricking and freezing is not uncommon. Magenta cast in the raw files as default (and color in general) is not to my preference.
There are benefits - the internal storage, usb charging, lighter body - as I said a lot of people love them.

In the end for me it’s a value proposition - it’s just not worth it - I like the native output from the m10 series better and I don’t feel like my large prints suffer from lack of fine detail, and I have a Hasselblad for when I think resolution is really important.
