Got my White's SJ rebuild back. These were standard black SJ's w/ 1/2 at the back, full heavy lug sole. First got them over 10 years ago. I wore them a lot for the first couple of years, and then got tired of wearing them because they were so heavy and cumbersome, and I really didn't the heel being that tall.

FYI - these were measured for my feet and are size 8EE by Whites measurements. My foot is a pretty true 9E street shoe. Comparing to other shoes/boots, I'd say these are closer to a 9/12EE.

Specs;

complete rebuild - new toe, counter, vamp, pull strap - all brown leather is new

single leather mid sole w/ 1/2 composite out sole

curved heel dropped 1/4" no half slip

standard SJ brown leather

dress toe cap

double row white stitching

The only other thing I would have liked to add was a rolled top.

Even though they were broken in to my foot, they were pretty stiff when I got them back. After a few days of wear, they've relaxed quite a bit. With the new single leather sole and dropped heel, they are noticeably lighter and easy to wear for everyday use, all day long. Very happy with the outcome! Still a very rugged looking pair of boots.

These pics are after 1-2 days wear, without treating the new leather. Since I've given them a light coat of Huberd'sand they've become much darker. Not sure if I like them better darker or not, as I really liked this shade of brown against the black. Now there is less contrast.

I converted these Chippewa Engineer Boots to a 40's Style.

This pair is a bit different from the other 40's conversion I have done in the past. The owner gave me the privilege to add my own twist with this project. I added two thin leather soles like the original Chips. I also stacked the the heel with more leather and put a thin Catspaw rubber heel. To finish it off, the owner sent me these sweet roller buckles very identical to the originals.

Here is a picture of the process I go through with every resole I do. I handwelt every pair of shoes/boots for more durability. For instance I converted the stitcher construction on these Vibergs to a handwelt construction.

Thanks! Sorry but I didn't take any pictures of the bottom view, but yes I tuck in upper the same way as I would with a welted pair of boots/shoes.
