Definitely one I'd keep in mind for the future though. A beautiful, waxy pair of C&J Skye recently went on eBay for a (relative) steal, they're the predecessor to the Islay as far as I know...

How much was that? I didn't know they stopped making the Skye, I love mine. I saw the Islay in Start in Shoreditch and they are very nice. More rugged than the Skye for sure.

These just arrived at my doorstep yesterday, and they are actually almost 2 weeks early. I ordered this pair of custom Wesco Boss in late November and they are modeled off the Narrow Wesco but with some changes I liked more (like brass roller buckles from Okuyama, longer straps, and a half sole). I ordered through Baker's, and they were great to deal with.

My red wing 8181's with about ~2.5-3 months of wear, unlike jeans I don't keep track of these lol. The denim stains are darker though, and I am mad cause I found out a week ago that the upper leather on both boots are completely different, so quality control needs some work in red wing.

Well I just heard back from White's Boots. I had sent in my foot tracing to get the correct size for me. I wear an 11.5 in Nike, an 11 C in Aldens, and it turns out I need a full size down 10 C in White's.

Erk was I guess right with his size choice...

They went for £229 with just one bid...was tempted, but ultimately common sense (and some sizing advice from coleslawyum, cheers!) said that an 11 would be too roomy so let them be...

I don't think they've stopped doing it per se, it just doesn't seem to be in production right now. I'm sure, if wanted, C&J have some somewhere as there were models instore that aren't listed elsewhere, like the roughout Arrans I ended up going for.

Those look great. Which color stitching is that on the upper?

Thank you, I went with brown on the uppers.

^^ Those look real sweet rayv44, how much did they set you back if i may ask?

Did you change the buckles yourself, or did Baker's put these on?

They were 619 shipped (like 1/3 the price of Narrow Wescos which are almost $1600), and I bought the buckles from Okuyama, sent them to Baker's, and they sent them to Wesco where they were attached.

got these off factory 2nds

I was wondering what kind you got when you posted awhile back. They look nice, and I'm surprised how much I like the wedge sole! It's not the usual pair, but still looks pretty damn good. How much did you pay?

That's some great service from Baker's and Wesco.

Enjoy those beauties, looking forward to future updates on these when they have some wear!

So I know this isnt shoe/boot related, but I picked up an old perfecto jacket a while back thats pretty old and stiff. Is it realistic to apply obenaufs to the entire coat? Or should I just take it to a leather repair shop? Thaaaanks

Pecards specifically markets their leather dressing for furniture restoration. I'm sure it would work nicely on an old leather jacket.

I've never used Obenaufs before, but I imagine it would work just fine. Isn't it very wet, though? You would just need to be careful to apply it sparingly and allow it to soak in before wearing with other fabrics.

^great purchase there mega...any info's maybe?

They're the Trickers X Present low brogue from 2009, in Acorn. I lusted after them big time when they first came out, but they were far too expensive for at the time. I found these whilst browsing eBay a few days ago, and ended up getting them in really nice, used condition for basically half price, still with box and bags.

I am a steady 10.5D RW, Alden, Wolverine 1000 miles, and 10.5D in White's Semi dress is just big enough to wear a thin insole, but I will say that the Semi Dress heel is quite broad. So that may allow for even more room.

those are some very cool looking engineer boots Rayw44. which toe last did you get to resemble the narrows? (since narrow last is not available outside Japan)

I've had these Red WIngs since 2006. Love them. Wear them every winter, and when there's snow. Kept me from slipping all over NY, NJ this winter when there was that huge mess of snow when we visited.

Don't know if you can see it, but there's a little bit of indigo staining at the back, where my jeans would rub on it. Tried to get it out as best I can.
