What are the green jeans in this pic? There's an Evisu logo in the top left of the page. Is that what they are?

Hi grouse allergy- glad you like the pics!

These are Hidehiko Yamane jeans. Yamane's the guy that started Evisu in the 80s, and for the last 3 or 4 years he's also been doing Hidehiko Yamane- in Japan it's cross-branded and you buy them in the same stores, outside Japan I think it's only available from the Hidehiko Yamane store in Hong Kong (TST), and it's not cross-branded because of the Evisu International license. It's not as hard-core repro as Evisu, and more jokey, and most of it's made in China, using Chinese denim. I'm not as keen on it personally, although some of the Tshirt graphcs are quite cool. Not to be confused with Yamane Deluxe, which came earlier, as a part of Evisu, and is higher-end, less branded tailoring/shirts/my new bowling shoes! etc

there's more at http://shop.evisu.jp/shopbrand/005/X/page1/order/

[edit] totally off topic, but what do people think about coloured denim? I once nearly picked up a Vivienne Westwood Anglomania green denim jacket, but i didn't get it, and i've always slightly regretted it

Bill

I'd love to see more pics of what you picked up in Japan.

This post will now be totally off topic. but it's just one post, and since you asked:rolleyes:

No1SPECIAL jeans, new silver selvage. Size 38! (I normally wear 32 or 34, but these are shrink to fit, and quite baggy) I had them cut quite short for this pair

BEAMS T Tshirt by 'Wonderful Design Works'. Beams is a big chain of excellent clothes shops, in the same group as United Arrows and Ships. Beams T is a stand-alone concept in Ginza (I think) which sells really nice T shirts designed by independant graphic designers. Very nice quality basic T (tubular), and the prints are awesome

Comme des Garcons Homme Plus 2pin belt. In Japan, CDG is much more subtle than internationally- they still sell all the same fantastic chopped-up stuff you see everywhere, but they also have really beautiful plain tailored suits, plain shirts, knitwear etc etc, just really nice quality. I liked this belt because the 2 pins are cast in one piece, not separately. Also it's extra long, so you tuck it through a couple of belt loops and it ends at the side. Nice leather too

Teryaki Boyz album... these are Bathing Ape's Nigo's proteges, and I was interested to hear what they actually sound like. It's the perfect example of just what you can achieve with hype! The rapping's ok, although a lot of it's in Japanese, which I don;t understand, and presumably it's better than the english. But the production credits are unbelievable! Adrock (Beastie Boys), Mark Ronson, Daft Punk, Dan the Automator, Cut Chemist, The Neptunes, Cornelius, Just Blaze, DJ Premier, DJ Shadow... It's a bit of fluff, and I probably won;t listen to it for much more than a few weeks, but it's certainly fun!

Colored denim is fine with me, especially there is time that i want to rotate different color jeans. Never saw the VW green denim jacket, but green denim is little too sharp for my personal taste. But i trust your taste that the VW must be a good one.

The past few page is absolutely fantastic, from emmit sand down his trickers to Daveo clean up his stink and Rodeo posting so much pics on his trip. And with few new Alden and C&J and RW, we can expect more evo pics in few months:)

hello everyone.

i finally got my alden 405s 11C in. when i got them they seemed to fit, so i decided that i would keep them. now i'm noticing that maybe i should have gone one size wider. i'm having some pain in the ball of my right foot (the left foot feels fine) after walking around for a while and my right big toe is a little tight in the toe box.

so, am I screwed? is the pain i'm experiencing just the soles breaking in? will the shoes stretch? will i be able to have the shoe stretched to fit my big toe? any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have worn both of these a fair amount since having Greg at Eddie's put Cat's Paws on them...I haven't done much maintenance on either lately.

I have fallen in love with my #8's and have been wearing them at least every other day.

I accidently bought these at Alden Shop SF awhile ago...a great find, Ravello is excellent, I just haven't had a good enough occasion to give them their first wear yet...I might end up selling them to finance the purchase of some shell Patina Wingtip boots.

These whites are awesome and really have been an excellent change of pace from my Aldens. I wore these boots a lot for the 3 months I worked at Guitar Center, but lately they have been used for hikes and doing actual work. I hope GregNYC doesn't see what a bad job I have done of keeping them polished.

I am adding this second similar photo because it gives a glimpse of the leather lining, an upgrade I highly recommend.

After looking back at all the photos I just posted, I realize how bad I am at photographing boots/clothes. I desperately need SuFu photography lessons.

wait 2 different indes? both have cats paws??!! purrrrrfect!

Yeah...its pretty awful that my photo skills make it not that easy to tell the difference between a 2 year old beat to hell pair of 405s and a newish much-less-worn pair of Cigar 405s.

That's some great evo on the Aldens and the White's.

tmadd If you decide to let go those cognac Chukkas i might be interested provided they are my size, what size are they?

Those boots are foul. Can imagine them being worn by some muscle bound queen in gold hotpants and a tight vest.

(just my opinion, mind- and no offence meant to muscle bound queens)

you see, traditonal english craftsmanship caters to muscle bound queens as well

Absolutely. Have you not seen the film 'Kinky Boots'?

tmadd, if you sell those ravellos you may be regretting it in the future. There are probably people that fly to Hawaii just to buy some rare colored shells from Leathersoul (maybe not). But anyways they look awesome, give them a few wearings and if you still decide to sell, that's your call.
