I gave my Blue's their initial hot soak yesterday but I'm still not satisfied with the length.

hot soak isn't even close to enough with these. I hot soaked mine for hours, pouring almost boiling water in every 30 minutes or so. After they dried I decided to throw them in warm wash and then the dryer, just to be sure the shrinkage was out of the way and they lost at least another size. the length shrank quite a bit as well. just an fyi.

I understand that these take a fair amount to get all of the shrinking out of the way... Out of curiosity, when it's all over with, have they shrank down to the tagged size? Or a little further? I'm wondering if I get a 36 and do a hot soak and heated dry, if I could get them down to a 35" waist...

doubtful. i didn't measure mine after the wash/dry but i sized down 1 from my normal size (1.5 in from true size) and while they were pretty tight, i was able to button them without much difficulty. plus these stretch a lot so...

edit: and unfortunately it looks like the theighs will be too slim for me... shit, I was hopeful.

Yeah, that's what I'm looking at. I'm trying to keep around a 13.5" theigh, but I suppose a 34 may work. Unfortunately BiG has none, so I'll have to wait for them to restock to indulge my curiosity.

Just bought a pair of Sz 30 Oni Blues from BIG yesterday, gonna hotsoak them today. Pretty excited and liked the fit when I was trying different denim on yesterday.

evidently, these have proven to be quite difficult to fade...i just added the samurai 0500xx to the circulation, so these wont be getting 100% attention from now :/

I don't think they are difficult to fade at all... just wear them.

My onis after a bit over 11 months. The color and contrast arent nealry as impressive as they are are in person, but its been rainy cloudy the past few days and these are the best pics I can take right now. Been washed numerous times, I think at least 7 or 8.

Posting these for one of my best friends (he doesn't do forums). Oni blue purchased may 2007. No real wear until end of summer really though, it was pretty hot. Washed first time in Nov then again in Feb.

Onis looking great, hard acts to follow. Worn for a year. Wash many times. Now I only wear these on the weeekends, working on Nudies (Ducks). Jeans still fit great. Sunny day so here they are:

I really like the denim and the cut on these, and particularly the super heavy stitching round the pockets.

I am going to soak them today and will post some fit pics afterwards.

I just got my Reds from BiG yesterday, so now they've been soaked/dried and here are the results...

Pre-soak:

Post-soak:

Measurements: pre-post soak

Waist: 38.5" - 35.5"

Inseam: 36.5" - 34.25"

Theigh: 14.75" - 13.75"

Knee: 11.25" - 10.75"

Hem: 10" - 9.75"

A little baggy, but I like the looser fits.

depending on the size jeans-izumi had a couple pairs a few months back. no idea if they still do. i know they didnt have a 30 or else i would have got them
