today i got a roll back from my canon wp1. first roll ive shot with this one. the view finder is way wider than the actual picture so a lot of the pictures were more tightly cropped than intended. also a few of the pictures had some weird shit going on with them, some black lines and some weird haziness -- might of been some water inside the camera or something. lots of pictures of my girlfriend and the beach, as always.. shot on kodak ultramax 400.

Hey, anyone studying photography as a career path? I'm seriously debating whether I should try to transfer into my school's photography program or even dropping out and going to art school to study photography.

Anyways, shot a wedding a while back, here's my fav shot from that set.

You know, I've been thinking of Minoring in photography in school but then I realized I don't want to be judged from someone elses POV as to whether or not they like my images or not. I like being able to do what I want and not what someone else tells me to.

Also if you think about it, you don't need a degree, all you need is a portfolio. I've been hired by numerous people and I haven't gone to college for it. I also find that if I were to do it as a job I just would start to enjoy it less and less.

Anyways, here's a recent photo from a photoshoot I had.

I wouldn't major in photography.

I would just keep doing what your doing and try landing gigs and explanding your work.

Yes don't major in it, I'm a design student and the majority photo majors graduate then go work at a camera store while moonlighting as photographers or go back to school for design. Save yourself the hassle of being broke. The market is saturated right now. The only reason I keep busy is because I know people, otherwise most of my work would be design stuff . Also when you turn a hobby or passion into a career it can shit it all up quick.

got a roll back today from ritz. those bastards forgot to scan the last 4 pictures.. gotta go back tomorrow and get them to do that. all of these are from my olympus stylus with kodak ultramax 800.

i always forget that the stylus shutter speed only goes down to 1/15. even with 800 iso film and decent lighting this picture was still super dark.
