I want a No. 1 Lot 2001 so f**king bad!!!

Make a pact with yourself not to buy any more denim until you have a pair in your possession. And be strong!

I'm feeling the Japanese No.2 denim at the moment, having seen the fades that are starting to come through on this jacket:

I got some No.2 denim in reserve, which I think will be getting an airing later on this year...

That's been my game plan man. It's just every time I try to get a pair it falls through! Starting to get annoyed at the fact and feel like F**K IT. Then again I never quit!

Damn, that's a nice fit

Thanks! At first they were crazy tight; its a little more sufu fit than i'd like them; I thought these would size similar to my USA Samurais, but after a few days i'm happy with them.

are those handpainted?

yeah balck selvedge lastest edition; heavier bluer hue denim

Yeah Ed, they're handpainted. I'm surprised tho, cause the paint is starting to already chip away and it's only been three days. I guess I'm going to have to get some fabric paint and touch up in a couple of months (or weeks, based on how this is going).

The fit took me a while to get used to, as I'd been wearing Lot 2001 constantly before these. Now they've proper 'second skin' status, and I love the fit. Those look good, too :)

Regarding the gulls, personally I'd leave them as the cracked paint shows that they're being worn and will look more at home with the fades that you'll get...but it's your call, ultimately.

Personally, I regret not getting a pair of the D80 No. 1 special's like the one shown in the blog. Evidently, the hank dyed denim fades nicely.

Yeah Hef,

I have been wearing my Hank's when I'm not rocking the Red Box and they start to show signs of wear fast! I got all excited!:D

The one's in the blog were probably done different, since they claim it takes longer to fade them. I believe they used natural indigo for those No. 1's when they dyed them. But, fading properties depend on a number of things.

Oh, yeah. You gotta post pics. :o

what i would do is get a waist stretcher (as seen on tv lol) or if you can button them up wear that shit in a hot soak... ORRR hot soak and when its wet just put em back on to stretch out the waist

Little bit of a cultural detour for y'all...Posted this pic a few pages ago, of the Evisu and Yamane Deluxe jeans with the mizuhiki design on the back pocket:

Found this article on the cultural significance of the knots in Japan, and one man's revival of the art:

http://pingmag.jp/2007/09/12/mizuhiki-art/

These are the most recent Japanese mizuhiki jeans, now sold out but were available in a 2001 cut:

and yeah half dried they shrunk a fucking ton after ben;s soak and all?

waist went down to 34.5 from a littl eover 36 inseam went down to 34 from 36.5 crazy..

Yup, I used my waistband stretcher on them during that first soak to prevent any additional waist shrinkage, so I suspected they would shrink even more.

They're AMAZING jeans and I was very sad to let them go but I have to say I'm a little disappointed in evisu that they made a tagged 38 jean that not only measured smaller than tagged size presoak but that shrank up so much. You'd think they would have accounted for the shrinkage and cut the jeans bigger to compensate for it. Oh well!

Was shrinking the jeans whilst wearing them not possible? Or would they have shrunk too much overall anyhow?

Oh, and this site has a big sale on.

Bizarrely, there's new season stuff in the sale, including these No.1s:

Seems to be that these jeans are being sold without any mention of shrinkage, so some people might be in for a surprise when their clown pants turn into something a bit more 'fitted'.

:)
