Original list:

Not many blogs that I'd wholeheartedly recommend, but you might get some mileage out of these - if you're not already reading them...

http://www.ablogcuratedby.com/welcome/ (the non-baller version of the epic magazine)

http://coutequecoute.blogspot.com/ (not always good, but always big images and frequent updates)

http://www.purple-diary.com/ (zham's hustle)

http://www.theselby.com/ (really fresh content behind each entry)

http://www.we-make-money-not-art.com/ (assorted dope shit)

http://www.dazeddigital.com/ (bit of everything, can be quality, but the stingy feed gets me down [hate when sites just run a header and a teaser of the text, don't make me visit the site just to decide if I'm interested])

I don't have much in the way of industrial design, but I do have a few additions...

AnOther have a new site with some kick ass content streams:

http://www.anothermag.com/current (main feed)

http://www.anothermag.com/exclusives (original web content, print-worthy production values)

http://www.anothermag.com/reader (curated selection of daily blog posts, their list of favorite blogs has more art/design dabblings)

and less so http://www.anothermag.com/loves (a little like luxist et al, doesn't interest me much, and call me a cynic, but probably a generous share of advertiser back-scratching)

http://www.someslashthings.com/blog/ (a snapshot of the magazine)

http://www.theimagist.com/ (nicely curated fashion/art/design content from a casting guy in NY)

http://johntancasting.blogspot.com/ (another model industry guy, but with a good amount of original content)

http://robotsatbombay.blogspot.com/ (past/present menswear and its cultural influences)

http://davidhellqvist.blogspot.com/ (interview and feature content)

http://rorydcs.blogspot.com/ (even more tits than Purple Diary)

http://pagesonline.it/pagesblog/ (womens centric, but do check out the online magazine [click the cover on the top left], its some of the best fashion content in Aus)

http://www.styleclicker.net/ (one of the better European street style blogs)

http://sonnyphotos.typepad.com/sonny/ (my favorite addition, photographer Sonny Vandevelde's blog, a straightforward old surfer from Avalon who does the runway backstage with an entertainingly different perspective)

This interview is a good introduction, and you might have seen his Julius shots on SZ?

Just booked my ticket for London, Paris and HK trip in September...

Will probably buy the sufu superguide for Paris but theres none for London?!

Been reading all the threads on superjet regarding these 2 cities but just wondering if any of you locals been there and have some sort of itinerary you might wanna share?

I'm a lil skeptical abt London (my perception of it is just a bigger version of Sydney lulz).

We're staying 4-5 days in each city. Any help would be appreciated!

Ah that's good to hear. Departing from a city where you want to stay longer is better than being bored of it. Wrote down the places you recommended, thanks heaps T.

We'll most probably be staying @ The Sumner in London... heard good things about that place.

1, 2, or 3? is that an accommodation name or something? if it is, I'm sold. Any chance of a link? tried googling and found nothing :/

Will be travelling with the missus and it'll be our first time going to Europe w00t! Last time I went I was like 7 so I cant remember anything.

Hmmm okay. I'll look at other places as well. If you happen to have any particular place that you can recommend, please feel free to do so :)

We would like to book it soon coz I'm assuming Sept would be pretty busy with Premiere Vision Paris happening etc. That's the reason why we're going on this trip actually.

re: chainstitching, right hand distribution in adelaide do it (although only for the last month or so) and to my knowledge are the only store in australia/nz that offers it. if you buy denim in store hemming is free, but if you're interstate it might be worth calling and seeing if he'll do it for a small charge or something.

mel I'd go with T's advice. serviced apartments are always so much more comfortable than a regular hotel room and the paris metro system is great so as long as you're in an area with a decent amount of restaurants (basically anywhere in paris haha) you'd definitely be better off with a place a bit further away from the tourist centres. can't remember off the top of my head where I stayed in paris, might have been one of the ascott group's serviced apartments.

so bummed didn't get to see most of the fe-male,gotta admire steezy women buying power heh.Oh well, maybe it's good that I don't get to see them...too much temptation already. dipped roo boots are dope, never feel such soft leather coming from ccp.Did manage to squeeze into red spiral boots, love that in your face sickening red,not me tho.wrap coat/thingies are out of this world, so much fun wearing them, almost intellectual challenging for the wearer, take in charge of the design of the garment and how it was worn. can't wait to try on those crazy geta(?) shoes when they arrive.

kk will look into it D. thanks man.

you need to get on msn more often btw.

edit:

been recently introduced to "EKAM" - any thoughts on this label?

this leather doesnt look too bad at all.. esp at $700

img56537874.jpg

a bit too similar to the new _7 cowlneck though.. rather save up for that

edit2: on 2nd thought.. leather doesn't look as substantial and might look shit unzipped.

yeah tell me about it man, I'll try to make more of an effort to get online when I can. :o too much beer and salty food + weird humid weather makes it difficult to sleep...

ekam leather is really quite cheap feeling, even the more expensive ones (there are the higher quality leather ones that are ~70K yen and "re: product" leather ones that are ~40K yen, they tend to produce each jacket in a couple of different leathers however none are much good). I kinda liked one of the cuts I tried in tokyo last year (the 013 model in washed lamb leather I believe) but most of the jackets are knock offs of womens rick and isaac sellam leather jackets, made from fairly cheap leather with crappy low quality hardware and cheap polyester lining. give them a miss mang, just another tacky jap domestic brand.

disjointed sole derbies...hmm?which one were they?

am surprised all the wrap trench were still there, probably as steven said, the ladies want some things easy to put on and ready to go. Those just simply require too much effort putting on.

Will pm u the pics when I get home.

I am fairly certain 1 of the wrap are gone - saw a lady tried one on. I kept on touch with her, she told me she bought it and sent them to a tailor.

Still awaiting her fit pics haha.. : /

can anyone recommend a backpack for less than $250? i've started uni and i have to carry around shitloads of textbooks. my 3000 yen joint from uniqlo is fine for lugging around a magazine and a jacket or something but i need more support i guess, its giving my back hell with all that weight in there. poor student concept.

yeah, my uniqlo one is basically the same size/design but in crappier material. i need something bigger with better straps/more support, almost like supreme's stuff i guess.

Supreme ones aren' t bad, I've handled them in person and they're solid. The last few season's backpacks have been underwhelming in design though.

Personally, I've been using my headporter x burton daypack for a few years and its got everything I want in a backpack. Might be a little hard to trackdown now.

How is everyone?

So just to let you all know..

Coming soon to NVREND is Mihara & Augusta.

In the near future, Faliero Sarti & Label Under Construction.

But for now you guys REALLY have to get onto Collateral, Alberts work is really, really amazing.

The hoodie and the leathers are amazing. The NVREND Exclusive gloves are limited to 5 pairs and heaps of interest is coming in.

The pricing for CC @ nvrend is a bit stupid. ive brought it down heavily in order to push the product for Albert. Once you see and handle the pieces you can really understand the value.

This season the pricing is almost too low - next season Collateral will be alot more expensive, as it should be.

I am about to put the remaining Nicolas Andreas Taralis on huge discount so keep an eye out.

Also some friedrich gray - mainly womens but a couple mens leathers going for really cheap.

HERE on Ebay

The new obscur is moving quick - the shoot is finished and pics are being edited now.

Whats news for everyone else? Im going to try and get this thread raging again - its been so dead for a good few months - i cant really talk as i have been insanely busy but where we all at?

good to hear about the 'coming soon' to NVREND. all of it sounds amazing.

as you said BT, this thread use to move alot quicker than it has the last couple of months. i think people have been busy IRL or just a bit off fashion. Nothing from 2010 has really caught my eye and ive basically just been copping older season stuff from past collections.

apart from that im still looking for work. i hope DJI and Tyro are enjoying their new jobs/ventures.

Faliero Sarti as well bt, congrats!

when do the orders need to be in for LUC (prob should have emailed this as well)

you're right the pricing is ridiculously low for CC, i was blown away with what you just sent me (btw just replied to your email)

been real busy myself.. planning next few holidays within the year at the moment so it's getting me through the busy days

Life is busy at the moment, currently looking for work and studying.

Doing my first year of commerce, planning to become an accountant of some variation.

Also on the uni bag bandwaggon, need something to replace my messenger that is falling apart. thinking of a TOJ daypack...but not sure.
