i think its super funny that the ultratech is a no no cause of the OTF opening, but those serated spydercos can get carried legit, those looks like fucking ANIMALS... you pull that on me, im walking the other way unless i got a gun... running... lol

I pulled my assist 2 on a guy that was letting the air out of my friends tires, he stood up and put his hands up with "OH FUCK" look on his face, then I blinded him with my surefire. I said something mean to him, and he started running and tripped over a the curb and ate shit on the sidewalk. I think he learned his lesson.

Question for you Sharbo X brothers, what setting do you leave it on when not in use? (In pocket, bag, etc). I have been just leaving it in-between clicks so that nothing is poking out, but it feels like there should be another way.

In between clicks is actually the way its "closed". i know some people have had problems with that seeing how there isn't any click to tell you youre in-between, but it seems logical enough to know when to stop turning.

Not sure this is EDC material, but... bought a Shun for my mum and it's way, way sharper than any of her german steel. It's actually sharp enough that you don't need to pierce a tomato's skin first to get a good cut. Supposedly this is due to the sharpening angle on japanese knives.

I'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to kitchen cutlery, but Shuns seems to be good medium quality knives and are reasonably priced. They're also nice to look at.

From what I've heard though, you should avoid Santokus and go for a traditional ~8inch chef knife.
