ive been asked to work on a tshirt cut for a company collaboration producing graphic tees and would like to know what your favourite tshirt brands/cuts are..

im not talking about anything fancy like rickowens overlength or damir doma detailing, im talking simple basics. no capped sleeves, no over-length, no overly large scoops.

any & all input appreciated!!

i always like the bape tees.

i'm not kidding.

i think the cut is fantastic (not too long but slightly slim) and it holds well after 500000x washes + tumble dry.

i have no idea whether there's been a change in the cut or material but the ones i wear as pajamas are all from like 2001.

i wish undercover tees were printed on bape blanks f'reals.

i say this everytime the subject comes up, but i have never run across a better basic t-shirt than the crewneck helmut lang undershirts - slim flattering fit without being obnoxiously skinny with high armholes (key to a good t-shirt fit), a decent length and cozy soft without being fragile. the line was cancelled when prada took over but i still have two at the bottom of a drawer somewhere. they originally retailed for $40 each, i should have bought a neckload

re: uniqlo length - it may be instructive to remember they are meant as undershirts, therefore worn under (and tucked into) something. this is a good thing imo and not to be held against them from a design perspective

ICR Dethkillers and the early Cloak Ts with this style tag:

This seems like a hard thing to nail down as something as subjective as the fit of a Tshirt or jeans are never the same from one person to the next, but I personally like the following:

Neck: either really tight or loose.

Sleeves: prefer a high cut; about 3~ inches out from the armpit.

Length: Should hit about ~2 inches below the belt.

Polycotton blends are nice and not so common now it seems. Also, consider silk screening rather than putting an actual tag inside the shirt, shit gets annoying.

ya'll niggas are all too short. uniqlo tees are perfect. and I've only been a few times but I think the ones I have I paid like $5 for individually?

I remember there being either cheaper or more expensive tees? but I think I bought the cheaper so they're prob undershirts.

Truth. The larges fit a bit smediumish (japanese sizing but not really it's just really short) but in terms of tees that aren't like a rick dick trick, the fit is superb and they hold up like nothing else.

I always found uniqlo blanks to be really werid and big, kinda awkward to wear just by themselves but maybe I just had a bad experience (bought a couple in july when I was in NYC).

@larssss : are the US uniqlo's cut different than the JP ones?

Possibly, very similar in chest and armholes, but US seem slightly longer

the ones I'm talking about (both US and JP) are the 3 pack inner I believe.

stafford premium weight tees. buy em at jc penny of all places. seriously the best fitting t shirts ever (by a looooooong shot), but i am super skinny, so i'm probably not the "norm"

cosigned.

also, hanes premium tees are pretty good.. they keep their shape after many washes. a tad short, though
