i can't wait to get these jeans. when i get them the plan is to pour boiling water over them to kill all the little monsters, then hot soak them bitches, then give em a hot hand-wash with a lil' bronners. i want all the starch out off the bat. then i'll turn machine-dry them inside out(high-heat) until they are almost dry, then iron them inside out until completely dry. after all that they should be shrunk as much as possible. the ironing will steam shrink the denim, make it more crisp(for however long that will last), and get all the dryer wrinkles out. i like to iron raws after the initial soak(s) so that all the creases are from me all the way. so by the time i finish ironing they will be just like raw, but shrunk...i've got it down to a science. they will never touch an iron after that.

i know, but until i save up the $$$ blathering on about them and asking miniscule questions about them is the only thing keeping me sane! all i know is that denime started in 1988,and the name comes from ''serge DE NIMEs''. and what color is the selvage lame? gordon said he was doing an interview with hayashi-san, but i don't know when it will be posted on the BiG site. i live for new denim info/factoids. as high as expectations might be, i doubt i'll win the contest unless my pair ends up uber-spectacular, which i doubt.

i read somewhere that denime also has jeans manufactured in china, and they aren't as good as the MiJ. can anyone expound on this?

a little history lesson, respect the archtect!

Entrepreneur Yoshiyuki Hayashi was 31 when he launched the Denime brand in 1988. His goal was to recreate the classic American jeans from the 1950s. Hayashi's obsession led him to Okayama Prefecture, a traditional cotton weaving area also known for its indigo dying and denim production. He asked numerous textile makers whether they could produce a denim of unusual quality-rough, stiff and shrinks when washed-opposed to the smooth, even-textured jeans that populated the market at the time. His fortunes turned when he found Shinya, a textile maker located in Ibara, whose then president Masahiro Sato suggested recreating the garments using a shuttle loom collecting dust in the corner of his shop. Such looms nearly became obsolete after jeans exploded onto the fashion scene in Japan in the 1970s, ushering in the use of more efficient looms.

Sato restored his shuttle loom and experimented until he finally reproduced a denim that matched a sample given to him by Hayashi. Hayashi and Sato were not alone in their quest to create the perfect pair of vintage jeans. The 1980s saw a surge of interest in vintage jeans, which attracted a number of enterprising individuals to the scene, including Shigeharu Tagaki, who designed jeans for the Studio D'Artisan brand in 1982...

good looking out for your contribution kind sir, like my grandma said 'your kindness will never be forgotten'.it's the literal meaning of putting your $ where your mouth is...

i wanted to change my avatar since the jets lost to the fucking bills last week on national TV(our second TV loss in two weeks to division opponents) so i googled 'osaka5' and got this new 5-pointed star image as a search response. supposedly this is an image related to osaka and it has five points so i thought it was perfect.

2 quick questions:

1. when i order, t5 will chainstitch the jeans to my requested length?

2. which of the two models offered is hayashi-san rocking in the pics with benny?

i think i'm digging the xxtype too. i've been wearing my warehouse for the past week and i'm digging the looser fit the more i wear them. i've only given them like 30 wears in the past 11 months and they are fading already, despite me babying the shit out of them. the denime denim seems similar as far as fade-speed, so this will be interesting...

damn, i repped atzec and his rep jumped 3 points. i feel powerful all of a sudden...it kinda sucks that they charge 5 bones for a chainstitch, but fuck it, it's worth it. if hayashi-san is going with the 66xx, who am i to differ?
