Anyway, just a quick snap shot taken today of my entry (#60). I'll lay 'em out and take better shots sometime soon.

No way I can keep up with the "pros" in this group, but I have loved this contest. I like these jeans a lot. The Warehouse pair were okay, but never felt totally comfy. I could live in these, if I could get away with it.

I hope whatever contests are coming up will include a cut similar to these!

I’ve missed hanging here. Just caught up in the demands of the road. I have popped in on occasions to read, but just haven’t had any interesting photos to share.

Just back from a month in Yangon, Myanmar, but I was held practically captive to work 14-hour days, 7-day weeks for my entire stay. (It was a writing gig.) Had one spare day chill layover in Bangkok before hopping the flight to make it into the US before New Year’s Eve to be with family. Thus, no interesting photos.

I took a few hours (more than a few) to catch up on our fabulous “shoe threadâ€. Wow! It’s practically it’s own forum.

Maybe someone can help with pointing me toward whatever denim contest is upcoming that will have a cut similar to these FullCounts. These have been the best jeans I’ve had, period. Some denim (textile) may be better, but for the wearing this pair has set the standard for me!

I've been paying attention to this thread and the shoe thread so I don't know If there is another contest with a fit like these. I always thought a momotaro with the 15.7 regular fit would be equal but I think Gordon has his hands full with other things.

Theres a 2 year LVC contest with any cut and the denime contest too

And an Eternal and Samuria contests are in the works. Add that to the Levis and Denime contests, and whatever one's Self Edge has going on, and there's a lot (too many?) contests right now.

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a pair of PBJ XX-009s since they look like they pretty similiar in fit to the 0105s. Always thought the denim used in those jeans would make an interesting subject for a contest.

Like Denim Phenom, this thread and the legendary shoe thread are pretty much what I follow here. And I can’t even keep up with these! But, as the Setterman said, I also noticed references to possible Eternal and Samarai contests, and I’m curious to know what might come out of these. I’ll pass on Levis, and I know zip about Denime (have to do some homework or listen to suggestions).

I have a pair of 10th anniversary Eternals that are still NWT. They’re still NWT ‘cause I bought a size too small and I was in the NWFP Pakistan with no way to safely swap ‘em. My Sammies are the S5000BK. I love the denim, but the lower rise and my fat ass mean that I struggle to avoid display of plumber crack. (My coin slot doesn’t compare to Lindsay’s!) Thus, they fell out of rotation and are in storage with those Eternals (and half a dozen other pair).

Of course, with the FullCount pair in action there is no rotation! If it’s jeans, it’s the FC. I might not be posting much, but I be serious in living up to my SuFu responsibilities!

What I’ve liked most about these FullCounts is that they are a comfy as my SugarCane ‘47s and SC Lee repros, but don’t hang off me like Grandpa jeans (which are worse than Dad jeans). I can’t pull off the skinny look, so my goals are in this territory.

So, with the end of the FullCount season approaching, I’m in a quandary for the next pair: Which Samarai or Eternal models might be closest to these? Of course, I’m not restricted to these. I’m just after my next serious pair. I want really cool denim, a textile with a fine hand that feels like something special, and will be as comfortable as these.

Of course, in the meantime, I’m still in my Full Counts. I LOVE this contest!

go with the eternals. i'd pick them over most sams anyday. not ragging on sams, but i like the eternal denim better for my own reasons.

+1 settlerman. i've been looking at the pbj 009's as well. their denim has always intrigued me. however, i can't bring myself to spend retail price on a pair. i've always prowled the supermarket, used coupon codes, or waited for sales. i'll probably end up waiting for any of the aforementioned to happen. if you get a pair though, i just might have to as well

Out of all of those, a Denime XX type is closest to the 0105. Traditional vintage cut and amazing denim.

The wear for "normal" use evolves more slowly, but is worth it. They don't look trashed as fast, but will better pay back the investment over time. In some ways, the very best are just getting broken in at the one year mark!

I'm going to be wearing my SC1947s and a pair of Warehouse #800s. I'm a bigger guy, and really like the cut of the 800s. It's slimming without being tight or uncomfortable. Lots of rise, narrower through the seat, hips and thighs than the 0105Cs, and not quite as tapered in the lower leg.

The more pictures that are posted here, the less I think there's any front runners, and that it's a fairly even contest. IIRC, BiG has said this isn't supposed to be a combs and whiskers contest.

BTW, those jeans are pressed flat with my hands. just washed em this morning. i better wash them a few more times to get those awful wiskers and combs out.
