put them on. they'll stretch.  :P

I'm sure she'll be relieved when I rip them by trying to put them on.  :D

Foxy, makes sense, I hope I don't have to put the waist stretcher through too much work.

Finally updating with fit pics on my GF's SDL-703 the size 30 was too small in the thighs for her so i returned and sized upCcfmryj.jpgRj04fcg.jpgq5nb4sF.jpg

She said these are the most uncomfortable pants she's ever worn, but all her other pants have lots of stretch so that how you will

couple of pics of the fit of my wife's SDL-701 jeans. She has been going back and forth on whether she likes these or her sugar canes more. She has decided she likes real denim a lot more than the stretch stuff she used to wear. Now that it is getting cooler maybe she will start to get some fades on them as she is finally wearing them more than once a week!  :P

Has anyone heard of Shu Jeans? It's related to Resolute denim by Yoshiyuki Hayashi. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and give insights on sizing and fit. This might be something I might be interested in buying for my wife.

Thanks.

Has anyone bought the Womens Naked & Famous Straight Raw Stretch Selvedge?

Like the one here: http://shop.tateandyoko.com/collections/naked-and-famous-womens/products/naked-famous-denim-the-straight-stretch-selvedge

I tried on size 29 and 30. Size 30 was not tight enough on me or a little loose in the zipper/crotch area, I didn't like how it looked. Size 29 was way too tight, I could barely button the top.

I like the look of the jeans but not the fit. Does anyone have recommendations for nice fitted raw women's jeans? I'm thinking of getting APC raw jeans but not sure. Also if anyone knows of a store in San Francisco bay area with raw womens jeans so I can try on in person.

Thanks :)

APCs might be a good idea.  You'd have to go to a department store to try them on.  I'm sure they carry them at Nordstrom, etc.  In SF, you should go to AB Fits on Grant St.  They have a ton of women's denim, some stretch, some non-stretch.

I think I saw a pair on the AB fits web store, other than that I think the 3sixteen ones that are sold via selfedge are great too, but I think those fade a bit

Thank you for the above. AB Fits indeed. I went for the Civilionaires on measurements. Matches her Railcar Vixens.

Hi, Does anyone know in womens sizing, how much will APC raw Petit New Standard jeans stretch? I tried size 31 and they fit well but I'm not sure if they'll stretch so much and be baggy. Size 30 I tried on but I can only button like the first 2 buttons, will these stretch?. Thanks for any input, :)

They stretch a ton!  I would go with the tight ones.

Does anyone know how much PBJ 1069-3 jeans stretch? I bought my GF a pair, and they were uncomfortable around her hips after wearing for around 30 minutes. Here are fit pics:

i don't have any first-hand experience with this model but i think there's been a general consensus over the years that PBJ/SDA women's jeans are too tight, don't stretch much, and don't fit 99% of ppl who try them, though i might be wrong on this :)

Suggestion for high rise, generous hip pair selve. pair. With a small tapper that isn't for rail thin women?

Thanks in advance.

If your lady-friend needs thigh room, stay away from lady-centric cuts. Designers haven't gotten it together to make selvedge for real women's bodies! I love the fit on my left field Charles atlas, some of the men's pbj offerings might suit her. Iron heart Beatle busters are nice...

Yeah, looking for a high rise most men cuts are a medium to low rise with the leg opening we are looking for. Thanks for the input though

Yep, my GF's PBJ jeans are too tight on her hips; the first time she wore them they gave her bruises. Size up one though and they're too loose.

Women's low rise: N&F men's (w/stretch)

Women's hi-rise: Wrangler rigid, size down 1 or 2, wear, wash, and then take in the legs--very easy--and hem them.

Trying to find my first raw denim but this might be a project since I don't live near NYC or SF to try stuff on in person.

The first thing I tried is 3sixteen 77bsp because Brooklyn Denim Co allows returns, and I loved the well-aged pictures on 3sixteen's website.  I loved the quality...I tried them on and amazingly I think I guessed right on the size (size 29 - I have 27" waist and 41" hips). They were very tight but not uncomfortably tight...so I was very hopeful up to that point.

Then I took pictures of the back view... and my heart sank because the back pockets look so strange :(   The pockets are way too far apart, and I think the back pockets are also too small for me.  I wish the pockets were slightly larger, with less space between them.

Can I post links?

It's a bummer because I really loved the pictures of 77bsp back pockets on selfedge.com and brooklyndenimco.com ... maybe 3sixteen didn't adjust the pocket sizing/placement for larger sizes.

I have a 14-day window to return them, but everything seemed perfect except for the pocket placement and pocket size.  Unless someone knows of a way to fix the pocket size ... I am guessing a tailor could fix the pocket placement easily but not the pocket size.

Bummer because the front fit well, you could send them in and get the pocket relocated as I have seen that done well before.

My girlfriend wears Redcloud R423's and they fit kind of similar to American apparel's high waisted jean, but that is pretty different from the 77bsp.

I think I'd need to get the pocket size fixed too though if I try to keep them and do alterations to make it work... If a tailor completely replaces the pockets with bigger pockets, would that make things weird over time with different fabrics?  (For example what if the pockets shrink more than the jeans or vice versa?)

and just in case anyone lands here with google and wants more specific measurements: the 3sixteen 77bsp back pockets in size 29 are 4.5" wide at the top of the pocket (the widest part).  On me that looks like a teeny tiny pocket near the side of a huge sea of butt...lol not the look I was going for.  I also measured two pairs of jeans whose back pockets look more proportional and more centered on me - those have 6" wide and 6.5" wide back pockets.

Return them and just buy my w27 PBJ's. ;)

i think it would be pretty weird if you got them resized with different denim in my opinion.

Haha, I don't think I could squeeze my 41" hips into a size 27 anything.  But thanks :)

I agree....

Well, I decided I must return them instead of getting the pockets fixed.  In my first picture of the back view, it looked like one pocket was farther away from the center back seam than the other.  I thought that might just be my camera angle, so I put them on one more time and took more pictures from different angles...it wasn't the camera angle.  I took them off and measured the back in a few different places...one of the butt cheeks is actually cut larger than the other.  It's a small amount, less than half an inch... but if I'm going to wear the same pair of jeans every day for a year or more then stuff like that would bug me.  An off-center back seam seems like it would be hard to fix than pocket size.

More pics added to the album so you can see what I mean with the off center back seam.

Sigh, I wish I lived somewhere where I could try on a few different brands before I buy any of them.

Has anyone tried Baldwin Ten Skinny in a size 29 or larger?  I'm curious if it has problems with back pocket size/placement and back seam symmetry like the 3sixteen jeans did.

http://brooklyndenimco.com/collections/womens-raw-denim/products/baldwin-the-ten-skinny

Meh... I might just stop looking though since I am not close enough to NYC or CA to swing by and try things on in person.  I seem to have better luck buying clothes if I can try them on in person first.
