Burgus Plus by Hinoya

Glad to see a few other Burgus afficiandos out there. The Hinoya stores in Ueno are like Mecca for the denim lover. They carry almost every MiJ brand as well as Buzz Rickson flight jackets. I could easily have spent my life savings in there. In fact I plan to do so next time I return to Japan haha

I went for a 3 hour bike ride yesterday and stretched my Burgus out nicely. Also, found out the light blue streak down the insight right calf is from abrasion with the chain guard & sprocket on my bike!

these jeans are great i just got mine a few days ago , the denim reminded me of evisu no.2 denim but far more hairy , did you treat the patch You Ren ?

Yes the denim is especially hairy. Makes for great photos when you get in there with the macro lens. Getting melted chocolate out is just not happening for me though.

And no, I haven't done anything to the patch. But I plan to beat the crap out it over the next few months!

I've only been wearing my lot 770s for 2 months now, so not that much wear yet but will post some pics this weekend. The hairy denim is fantastic and the fit looks good but feels very tight. I wish these jeans had a bit higher rise so they weren't smashing my boys. Also the pockets are knuckle bleeders so I can't pull my mobile phone out without answering it. I'd go up one size if I had my chance again.

Here are the pics as promised. I've had these lot 770's for about 3 months now, but they've only accumulated about 50 days of wear in that time.

Overall the denim is holding up very well, only obvious signs of wear are a bit of fading on the belt loops, pocket corners & a bit of roping on the hems. Expect to see more dramatic change after the first wash.

Here you can see the nice fade on the belt loops

Friction from walking has created some nice textures around the crotch area

Slight roping developing around the hem from shoe friction (I don't roll up these jeans). Scope the nice pink selvage

It's very subtle, but if you look closely can see some streaks developing down the leg - most likely due to abrasion with the chainguard on my bike (I ride to work everyday)

And here you can see the fade on the corners of the back pockets

Along the buttons you can see lines of shiny bright blue developing around the edges of the denim, where the denim rubs against itself

That's all for now, will update again in a few more months.

Time for a little update. Did an epic bike ride over the weekend and earned myself some nice saddle fades

See "What are your jeans doing today" for pics of the ride

This pair's gone about 85 days of wear now, without a wash. They don't stink yet but they are starting to look pretty dusty. And I spilt peking duck sauce on them today, so first wash is coming up soon.

I'm really happy with the way the denim is evolving. It's slow like watching the grass grow but I get excited as each new detail reveals itself. Right now I'm enjoying some vertical falling

Each time I reach into my pocket for loose change, I add to the Zippo fade

Got some really nice whiskers setting in, these hills and valleys are going to go off after first wash!

Beautiful crispy honeycombs and about 80km of bike riding saddle rash

Hidden rivet atari

And the subtle beginnings of wallet burn

One of the pleasures of wearing Burgus is nobody else has heard of it, and it's about half the price of other brands. I highly recommend you give it a try

All this hard wearing pleasure can be yours for $130! Cheap like my first car

My 770's were beginning to stink after 5 months of almost constant wear, so I threw them in the washing machine for the first time.

The water turned a lovely blue almost straight away.

Drained & ready to rinse

Post-spin dry and ready to hang on the line - check out the indigo stains on the bottom of the washer!

Post-wash pics to follow soon :)

Surprisingly not that much fade after the first wash. Well, technically it was the second wash as Lot 770 comes as a one-wash. I was worried about shrinkage because they were tight to begin with, so I put these on whilst damp, and discovered I couldn't close the top button haha. Took a lot of squatting and stretches to get them back in shape.

The wash did reveal some beautiful details, accentuating areas of existing wear by leaching the indigo threads to form an amazing, almost reptilian assortment of blue scales.

I love this polished shine coming through on top of the hidden rivet & the slight oily sheen developing as the hairy denim is pressed into submission

4221407817_9430fac303.jpg

Nice slubby texture developing down the thighs

4221407501_2372d7f94f.jpg

Honeycombs survived the wash intact. You can clearly see the fades along the top of the ridges and the supima cotton hairs still prevalent in the valleys

4222170672_c592779b12.jpg

Roping hem fades caused by the chainstitching look so much better without the dirt & grime of previous months

4221409623_45ace9ba98.jpg

This particular pair of 770's came with a weird wrinkle down the inside right leg that is developing some nice branching fades

4221410335_b236be1d32.jpg

So far so good, am loving how these jeans are developing their own patina & personality!

Burgus 770 after 1 year of wear, straight out of it's 5th wash. Denim is holding on to the indigo really well, though I have been desk jockeying most of the time.

FRONT: Decent whiskas, knee fading, love the pocket fades especially

BACK: Arcs are coming apart but I like that. Not happy with the combs in this shot but they'll look better after a bit of wear when the creases are reset.

Look forward to seeing how the Burgus world tour jeans end up after a year!

^I have a pair of the heavier Burgus Plus 780 in size 31; straight leg cut, 17 oz purple selvage, original chain-stitch hem (unaltered), heavy duty pocket canvas, pocket rivets, red tab, etc. ... all the bells and whistles!

Tried to get a pair in a size 30 earlier this year when I was in Tokyo but had to settle for 770s instead because the 780 were sold out :(

Going to put them up in supermarket when I get the chance. Feel free to shoot me an offer.
