lol, no tenchi, thankfully they are not :)

Last time I washed them, a bird shat on them while they were drying. :( I didn't want to wash them again, so I sprayed some oxy-clean or something on the shit, and spot-cleaned it off with water. But I think the oxy-clean stuff had some bleach in it, and stayed on the jeans since I never properly washed it out. So as a result I have some bleach [not man] spots on the thigh. I don't like the spots that much, but at least there's a story behind them!

Fullcount 0105 (1953 model). My first contact to japanese jeans and I still can take only about 20% credit of the wear (2nd hand). These have been my "travelling pants" but I think it's time to retire. I will patch these one more time...

Oxi-Clean with bleach in it ? Oxi clean specifically says do not mix it with bleach do not use it with bleach at all .. so couldn't be

Oxi clean is powdered hydrogen peroxide type stuff .

It bubbles / oxygenizes the water so it lifts / kind of self agitates the dirt out of things .

Without that shit I would still have stains around the necks of my white dress shirts . dry cleanin dont do shit

You probably just left it in the fabric too long and it bubbled the indigo out .. :-(

were those washed after 12 months or are they just 12 months old with a wash somewhere in there? they look awesome and are what i'm hoping for. :D

12 months, probably 7 months of heavy daily wear, and 5 months of regular wear, THEN my first wash.

it's amazing how those sammies look really really "rough" after a couple of washes.. the denim looks really coarse and rigid...

I love this. This very much falls in line with my philosophy on raw denim - in the end it matters less to me how "good" my fades are. It's more important to me how these jeans will reflect the life I lived while in them, and how many random stories they've collected. For instance, I love the bit of pocket-wear-atari I have on my left thigh due from sliding on the carpet while playing with my parents' puppy... or the bit of caked dirt on the ankle-stacking from the huge outdoor Fatboy Slim concert I saw here in Rio... or the black spot on the inside of the right leg from the chain of my bike at home (oh how I miss you, bike!).

So basically what I'm saying is... rock on for bird-in-pitchfork man-juice stains, because they have a story!

because it feels uncomfortable to have to pull the belt too tight, plus it makes it look strange.

Plus, my question was about getting them to shrink, not how to use a belt.

i.e. would spritzing them with water and then tumble drying on low get the waist to shrink down some?
