jwied: fantastic job. the combination of ingredients looks like it'd really bring out the flavours of the fish and fruit.

cd1: man... that pineapple dish... yum.

cooked dinner at a friend's place last night:

nothing like some wine to aid the culinary endeavor. pickled peppers stuffed with cheese - meant to be the starter, but finished before the cooking was done.

just came back from having a japanese dinner with the family. this is what i had

assorted sashimi on rice

i really hope you didn't pay much for this. it's possible that this tastes fine, but this is probably the most unappealing/unappetizing chirashizushi i have ever seen in my life.

if this was served in japan (or to any discerning patron), i'm sure that it would get sent back. obviously the quality of the sashimi is important, but aesthetics are serious business as well. btw this kind of bowl isn't used, this is probably the first time i've ever seen mock-crab used, the wasabi looks terrible, and the placing of the gari leaves alot to be desired. if the master wasn't japanese, i totally understand and sympathize. if he was, he should be shot.

this is the second time i've seen this.. you seriously eat hot dogs for breakfast??

Are you trying to rival the United States for world's unhealthiest population or something?

yeah that's just one helping of 4... here we munch on deep fried pork lard as snacks, helps to counter the heat.

Dinner with val and my baby.

Mee goreng tambah telor (fried noodles Indian style with egg sunny-side up) and chicken murtabak (some kind of thick pancake with curried chicken filling).

Looked like crap but tasted like heaven.

I eat hot dogs for breakfast sometimes. It's nothing new.

Even though the food is unhealthy, everybody's body is different and you won't immediately be unhealthy just from eating junk food like that.

An heartburn-inducing, pile on da cholesterol dinner...

P1040199.jpg

Got the char kway teow right this time. Could have done with more chilli though.

P1040200.jpg

Deer meat rice with egg and spring onion garnish.

P1040201.jpg

This dessert obviously may not have universal appeal. It's actually got quite a subtle taste though, this grass jelly with shaved ice...

P1040205.jpg

And then went grocery shopping. Bought some pink ginger cordial and hazelnut syrup to mix with soda water. The funky matcha chocolate dessert snack is a naughty bonus...
