Red Dog Saloon, pulled pork wasn't bad, but not as good as Bodeans. All about the buffalo wings and their milkshakes.

not fancy stuff, but local eats i had with friends during the weekend:

1. CHEE CHEONG FUN (猪肠粉)

298747_241719122547937_100001295523359_630245_710302920_n.jpg

the plain type with a choice of sweet or salty duck sauce, this comes with some yam cake on the side (bottom left)

this is the savoury (HK-style???) version with bits of char siew drowning in sauce. it's made to order thus i had to queue 30 minutes for it

2. KWAY CHUP (粿汁)

298362_242529515800231_100001295523359_632456_1704301363_n.jpg

had a 2 persons set comprising of the small intestines, stomach, belly meat, tau pok (fried beancurd) and an egg

eaten with this... broad flat rice noodles, but cut into large pieces

3. Prawn Noodles (虾面)

299943_241745075878675_100001295523359_630341_1790646641_n.jpg

made a choice of flat rice noodles instead of the usual thick yellow noodles, this version has added spareribs and the sprinkling of golden stuff of top are deep fried pork lard.

4. Char Kway Teow (炒粿条)

Had Wagyu beef last night, it was godly

definitely high on my list for the last supper

I find for Wagyu beef, the best is to cut it up into bite size chunks, grill it on the table and eat it while it's hot..

just a lil bit of ground sea salt and fresh ground pepper brings the flavour out beautifully

I personally like the rib eye section because it's more buttery, for those who prefer a meatier taste, go for the shoulder section

best thickness would be 0.75cm... and it should be done to medium rare where you can put the whole thing in your mouth fresh off the grill/pan without burning yourself yet the juices and fat melt in your mouth and give you a mouth full of unrivalled orgasm... it feels like a symphony in your mouth

if you're pan frying it, just use a bit of grape seed oil to start and it would later infuse with the beef fat that would have remnants of sea salt and fresh ground pepper in it..

and I personally like to eat it with japanese white rice... best combination.. and @ the end if you finished up the beef, put the rice in the pan and roll the rice in it...
