Well, the only thing I can think of is that perhaps I am "grandfathered" in their system, since I had been registered with Rakuten from so far back...

I made a purchase with them via e-mail order (not Rakuten) in Feb this year (from Australia), they were still taking orders.

Maybe this is for MF products only?

Japanese shops are not supposed to sell MF to people in the US. Not sure about other countries, though.

how much proxy charge?

I've used proxy for all my Japanese purchases and depending on the cost, you'll average paying about $50+ out of pocket. It's worth is sometimes. When I purchased my MF Chino Riders from Hinoya, I saved about $100 using "Japan-Auction-Agency"

Eddy chill! im in a 33 right now, you have way more shrink left! just hot washed min for 15 min. and wearing em to dry. they fit nice, like the Eltopo's fit. wash em!

Just got my Californians in from Mr Freedom finally. Even though they had gotten to my university mail room at 11:45 the one guy working there managed to scan it for over an hour. If I hadn't had the tracking number I may not have gotten them today. =\ Pre wash measurements for the 31x32 are:

Waist: 32

Front Rise: 12 1/2

Back Rise: 15 3/4

Thigh: 12

Knee: 9 3/4

Inseam: 35

Hem: 9

Will be hot soaking these babies soon.

Ed, soak em again. Mine shrank a substantial amount more after a second and much hotter soak.

Soaked my Californians for about 15 minutes in hottest water i could get from my shower. Wearing damp til dry. Fit pics:

Out of all 3 pair of selvedge denim I own this is so far my favorite fit out of all of them. Not to skinny or vintage relaxed. Theres definitely some shrinkage left in these but I didn't want the waist to be too tight. Will get post-soak measurements once dry.

Vinneus those look good. You soaked those perfectly. I guess that Jersey water didn't like patch though. Hopefully everyone will follow your advice on getting a good fit when they receive their pair. This new old stock denim doesn't seem to be shrinking as easily as new denim
