No, you recognize them as Jews because that's a well published fact. I know a whole lot of people that do not look Jewish and have no Semitic genealogy in their family and yet they are Jewish by religion. It's not that odd. In person, I don't look typically "Jewish" as you have so stereotyped it in this context, plus my given name does not give any hint of relation to anything Semitic or possibly Jewish. I have an Irish middle-name and Scottish last name. And yet I'm still Jewish.

The line is not as fine as you might think. You just have a stereotyped notion of famous/celebrity "Jews" or whatever you'd call them.
