Walked around a city park during the holiday yesterday.

 

 

 

Lots of wildlife but there was one particular animal that I was hoping to see that I thought I might miss. On our way out though we saw a group gathering by the water to check out this guy.

Hi guys! Sorry for the radio silence, but life just... well... went on.

 

Great to catch up on the past posts, and furiously giving rep! Hahaha.

 

Felt a bit guilty, and thought of posting some stuff....

 

To distract from the lack of progress on my jeans, I will start off with a couple of food shots...

 

A traditional dessert, sweet wheat porridge

 

A perennial favorite here in Singapore, char kway teow (fried rice noodles) We queued up 40 minutes for a plate; this was at a famous and popular stall.

It's difficult taking pictures of jeans in the office, when you share a cubicle with 2 other colleagues. Got caught in the act by one of my colleagues...

Updates

 

I've been soaking the waist daily and full soaking on the weekends.  When they need it, I go full wash.

Post-soak with a bunch of detail shots.  Combs are finally breaking a bit into some nice grandpa combs.  I've been hitting the patch with wax after soaks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I like how the brass has mellowed.

9 Month update. Washed about 5 times, worn lots!

 

 

 

Just noticed that the Denim has worn right through here and created a hole, trouble is the surrounding material is quite thin with is going to make patching harder?

Good shit, Simon.  My crotch is really weak and is ready to bust at any second.  I'll be patching it soon and I'll post some pics.  The holes are on the rear of the inseam?

 

Thanks for the compliments guys.  The marks on the legs are dust pooling down from waist soaks.

garden gnomes, if you didn't know already, the "gold tone" is the brass.  I would verify brass before finalizing an order.  I asked Hiro to soak them in solvent to remove the clearcoat.  Otherwise you'd be stuck with 80's condo brass.

Definitely not worn as hard as everyone on here but here are some 9 month pics...countless washes at this point! Still using my lame setup and iphone which makes it hard to capture the actual color...

lame set up or not, you seem to be able to capture the texture of the denim very well, which as I have said before, is borderline a new fetish for me.  Texture!

Had a chance to visit the city (Jakarta) National Museum...

Quite embarrassed to say that even though I live here for nearly my whole life, never been into this museum before.

The other name for the museum is the Elephant Museum because there stood an Elephant statue in front.

Inside is really spacious, quite an impressive amount of artifacts covering the diverse culture in Indonesia...

Whole set-up for the traditional shadow puppet show, this side is where the puppet-master + the whole ensemble of instrument gather, other side is the audience.

Huge carved wooden boats from Papua

 

After the museum visit, walk abit towards Monas (National Monument) another of the city landmark

 

Huge square where people like to come and hangout when the sun set....

 

Behind it is the Istiglal Mosque , largest mosque in the country...

 

Ending the day with a visit to an Italian ice cream parlor, done the old fashioned way.

Threw them in the wash again the other day (that's twice in a week)...Loving the blue hues coming out. Still hard to capture but here's a random recent picture

I think it's best to throw caution to the wind with these jeans, and I plan to wash them at least once weekly from now on.
