Shoes that look better with age...

Definitely not a case in which you, or anyone else needs to take offense. I have no problem with the increased traffic of this thread, and I think that it is great that more people are interested in buying nice boots, and I understand (from personal experience) that it is necessary to rely on advice when making such purchases, and this is as good a place as any to do it. My complaint is simply one of organization. There is too much content being generated on a daily basis, and too many separate conversations happening (sizing, maintenance, where to buy, collection porn, fit pics, etc.) for this to flow well. Probably also worth mentioning that ruining peoples reading experience is a valid thing to think about, because if it gets bad enough that longtime contributors stop reading, they will stop contributing, and everyone loses.

No offense, but you just ruined my reading experience, but no offense intended.

If I could actually be fitted in NY before pulling the trigger, I would definitely consider them. The INDY's - I can try easily try on...

Have White's send you one of those things that you can trace your foot with.

These got posted here before but can anyone tell if they were originally standard Indy's or a cromexel version? Any ideas on what creams/polish to get this deep red?

I'm no expert but they look standard to me...and for what its worth, theres nothing in the Japanese stating what polish/cream was used. They remind me of Chicken's pair and from memory he had a similar color...

Definitely standard version of the 405s. Probably polished a fair amount with a matching color....also a little bit of conditioning with Pecards, or something similar. They look awesome.

I've had this pair of goat skin Lucchese boots for almost 2 years. A lot of wear, and one re-sole after one year of walking around on the cobblestone around campus.

This what they looked like brand new.

Haha I have these exact same boots. I love luccheses, didn't know anyone else around here wore them

nice collection... are they yours?
Marineabilly, what brand are the brown boots sandwiched between those black boots? Do you have any profile pictures of them? Thanks in advance.

Denim Phenom, they are 1940's Chippewas. I don't have profile pics of them, but the exact same kind in like-new condition can be found here on my blog: http://vintageengineerboots.blogspot.com/2009/09/amazing-1940s-chippewa-engineer-boots.html

The only difference is that mine have a double leather sole - kinda like double Cat's Paw, but just leather on leather. Really sweet.

Yes, they are all mine, Happy Hooligan.

I bought these Justin boots on eBay for $35 just to beat the crap out of. My nicer boots were always getting messed up at bars and such. They looked pretty terrible but then I treated them with Obenauf LP. They darkened up a lot and suddenly look great.
