doesn't really work unless you use it on an image with a perspective looking down on something.

^ I think the fake tilt-shift effect works best on relatively flat landscapes shot from above. It doesn't look very realistic in that image, since the areas that are blurred don't correspond to any focal plane (i.e. the distant background is sharp, but the top of the building is out of focus).

also a note on tilt shift, although I agree about lowriders image I think a lot of people forget that tilt shift can and has been used very well and interestingly before people started doing the tilt shift 'minatures' photos.
