M11027 Shoulders: 42cm (listed as 44cm) Chest: 50cm (listed as 51cm) Sleeve from arm opening: 56cm (listed as 57cm) Back length: 52.5cm (listed 53cm) No size markings left on patch Single sided pocket tag - no text on back or mention of size Body and sleeve length are good but extra width would have been nice. At rest the shoulders are okay but I could use a few extra cm mobility-wise

  4. New jacket day. Was on the hunt for a type 2 or lee rider for a while and found this orrizzonti era denime on mercari. Got hit with customs, as usual, which doubled the price, but still. I like it very much. Else: bike helmet. Backpack. Canes. Muji shoes. Casio watch.

  7. 60s jeans (one-washed) with probably ~6-8 months’ worth of total wear. I picked these up in 2019 but totally miscalculated the rise at the time, and really only started wearing them the last year now that they fit me better. I love the watch pocket “lightning bolt” that I remember @501XX4EVER pointing out about 1960s Levi’s.

  8. The Copper King repro just arrived, and damn is the fabric stiff compared to the 101-J I've been wearing. When the description says high sleeve holes, they really mean it. Gonna throw it in the wash and dryer to soften it up and put up some pics when I get the chance... it's a ballin' jacket. The denim is super dark too as b_f said, I compared it to my TCB S40's (which are the darkest jeans I think I've ever owned) and the Gardeners are still noticeably darker.

  10. Anyone going to be in Osaka on September 21st? Slash is releasing a tux at the Samurai shop, he's done these pairs in the past where he uses Samurai's denim and hardware. Would love a pair, I tried on some of the S2000HX (which I think use the same 15 oz. denim) but talked myself out of them. Here's a link to the Instagram post, and the Osaka shop has a few other posts referencing the previous releases.

  12. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Their standard international markup is high enough that they should still be taking in plenty. Even if every other brand’s international partners did pass the tariffs directly on to customers, IH would still be one of the more expensive options, relative to domestic pricing

The jeans are about 5 months of real wear time and just had their first wash since I started wearing them. Also, the yellow Porsche Cayman is my dad's car, and of course my MX73 Cressida is on the right.

  18. Looks like Red Wing is bringing back the Pecos boots in Hawthorne Muleskinner, been wanting some roper style boots lately so might give these a try. Seems like a more affordable option than the Lofgren Duke Ropers, which seem to be impossible to find in my size.

  20. I have always wanted to do a minitruck build inspired by denim. Natural leather for upholstery, ages with wear. Denim for the door cards. Contrast stitching. Copper steering wheel and shift nob. Maybe a deep metallic indigo blue paint with white rims and red brake calipers.

  22. One of my oldest, dearest friends whipped me up some custom jeans His brand is Blake Edward, and these are his Style one jeans. I sourced the denim from another friend, which I believe is Kuroki? High rise, wide leg 4 pocket jean with deep front and back pockets The front pocket shape is so good - easily fits my hands while simultaneously, comfortably, and securely takes a knife or tape measure due to their J shape I can’t wear blue jeans to work these days, so these’ll get wear tested 5 days a week

  25. Pinto Ranch has a few low-heeled roper models from Rios and Black Jack for reasonable prices. I think that they all have a leather sole though. RRL has sold white label roughout ropers from Rios as well if you can stomach the fashion tax, but I think that they also have leather soles Secondhand market for cowboy and ropers boots has quite a lot of good deals even in weird sizes like mine (13 B). There's a slight learning curve to deciphering stamps and tags though to find the good stuff.

  26. I have some in XL. I probably could have gotten away with a large, but I'm tall and have a toddler so I need to be able to wash and dry without too much thought. They have shrunk a bit and the hem hits about halfway down my fly if even a little higher

  27. I have a few in white and grey, I frequently wash them on hot and tumble dry; they've shrunk up two sizes in the body length, but the width has remained relatively stable.

  28. I have the black, white, and grey Whitesville tees and they all shrank a full size with a cold wash. I imagine they would shrink even more if washed on hot and tumble dried.

  29. He does do ropers, at least I think I've seen some on his Instagram. Rios does a lot of interesting models as well, most of them a little flashy for my liking. Some of the models they've done for Japanese retailers are interesting. That would be a lot longer of a road trip if I wanted to see the factory.

  30. Twice a year ish I still go back and forth about ordering the ropers that Rios of Mercedes does for Black Bear Brand—if I ever end up going for a boot of that style it’ll be those, without question

  34. I've just got back from a week around Albuquerque New Mexico, which was totally made by extremely kind recommendations from @chicote. We're so grateful- thank you! Most of my photos are of family, but here are a some solo/landscape highlights, some including Working slack jeans: landscape just outside Corrales, where we were staying, on the way to a site of hundreds of Native American petroglyphs: which appear on rocks where black 'glaze' of oxidised iron is scratched away to make a lighter mark of the rock beneath: they were not easy to spot, here's a close up: we also saw a coyote clambering over the rocks, and the rest of my family saw a thorny devil (aka hornytoad, squirts blood out of its eyes), and we saw lots of anole lizards and 5-line skinks. Throwing a rock across the Rio Grande: the riverbed is almost totally dry at this time of year, where we were: best meals we had (we returned!) were at Itality in Albuquerque, on a plaza for indigenous-owned businesses, serving entirely vegetable local Native American food. It was fantastic, this photo doesn't really do the food justice but the stew was great (lentils, green chiles, summer squash), as were the 'pueblo tacos', and fry bread, which has a problematic history (devised from US-provided rations during enforced relocation), but seems to be a part of the NM culture now and tastes really good: up nearer Santa Fe the altitude is seriously high, and the clarity of light is spectacular. It's also a lot less hot, and a lot greener: Just outside the Jemez pueblo there's a calcium carbonate (chalk right?) 'frozen' waterfall: inside we found a crystal clear pool of water coming from a drip in the ceiling. Don't judge me, I tasted it, tasted like Topo Chico no lie Fenton lake, at the end of the same drive up into the mountains: the best bit for me was our visit to Sky City, the Acoma people's Pueblo- it's a long drive through pretty much desert to get there, but the landscape changes so radically with the geology that the drive itself was one of the best bits. It's at the top of a mesa (flat top mountain) and we got a bus up, and a tour by a woman whose family have a home there. Here's the view from the top: and the streets: a stairway to the skies (the top horizontal is a cloud, the verticals are rain) bread oven: the walk down is on very steep steps cut into the rock, with scooped hand holds: on our last day we went to Tinkertown, halfway up to Sandia Peak, which is the mountain that looks over Albuquerque. It's barely describable, but it's a gallery/workshop/home of Ross Ward, who was a sign painter and model maker. There are thousands of carved figures and scenes, a lot of them automata, mostly in the circus/fairground vernacular. Plus a boat that his brother built and sailed around the world, plus vast collections of pretty much anything you can imagine, all jammed into tight wooden corridors and rooms built out of concrete with thousands of glass bottles set into them, which act as windows, like this: bonus picture, I thought it was really cool that construction workers had hard hats with clip-on wide brims and sun/insect nets: Again, @chicote I'm just so grateful for all the time you took putting this itinerary for us together, I think we did all but one thing you suggested, which was too far of a drive. Best trip in ages.

  36. Ok, finally got it sorted on the url upload. Sufu just doesn't like the "share" link that Google creates. But if I copy that link, paste in the browser, copy the new url that populates and then use that url, Sufu accepts the image upload. I've gotten a couple entry level vintage watches recently and this 1961 Hamilton A-600 Automatic is my absolute favorite. I was watching "Queer" and yes, noticed the suits and slacks, but more so noticed the watches. That era had a little bubble to the crystal that I love. So I started hunting through 50s and 60s watches until I came across this one. It was originally gaining four minutes a day. I got it serviced and now it's losing one minute per day. Not bad for an 64 year old watch picked up on the cheap from eBay. WoM jeans visible beneath.

  45. Been meaning to get this thread started for a little while, was just waiting for my second pair to arrive. The first pair (which was previously posted in the Unknown JP brands thead), was produced in the later half of '23 using the LF44 denim. This second pair (which I just received over the weekend) are made using the SO02 denim and are similarly based on a '47. The one thing that I find very interesting and hard to describe with this jeans is the "three-dimensionality" that you can feel in all the folds where different layers of fabric intersect. He mentions it often on his blog and Instagram, but there's something about it in person that is very unique. And here's some comparison shots, I haven't washed the SO02 yet and I've been wearing the LF44 a bit.

  46. I got these a few weeks ago and have hardly had them off long enough to get good pictures, but here are a few. Size 29 M41057, at this point my favorite pair of M-Series jeans that I’ve gotten so far. The fit is perfect! A couple pics from a hike to an alpine lake earlier:
