Denime 10th anniversary 1937 pics (from c1998) Just back from a hem-job... big thank you for a top job and service from @Mr Black With nicely patina-ing belt from @Duke Mantee Interestingly, the belt loops are very lightweight denim compared to the jeans themselves... similar to the TCB 20s but even lighter Spot the difference! I got these about 36 hours after the shipping notice was sent. In Michigan. From Japan. I’m not much one for write ups or anything but I will say these are highly competitive with the fullcount super smooth denim for maybe the best breezy feeling summer jeans. Actually, they probably feel better. I sized up one - to a 31 -and I’m glad I did because the seat is slightly trim even if the waist isn’t. If I’d gone 30, I think they’d have fit more like my FW 51’s, which is fine, but for linen pants I wanted more of a roomy anti-fit. My 31 fits about the same, slightly trimmer leg - than my FC’s at 29. No clue how these things will fade but pants that feel like linen and look like jeans - I’m sold! The jacket is nice too - but (and I knew this going in) is longer than a typical type 1 both in torso and in the arms. In a way I think this is more versatile, but maybe not what some people would want. I think it will wear nicely - it’s like a French worker’s jacket in cut with type 1 detailing and the drape of linen. I’ll try to get pics up next week but I’m headed out of town today for a bit.7 points

^ Thanks @indigoeagle. I only have the FW 37s. The most obvious to me is the lower front and back rises; around 1-2cm shorter FR and 3cm BR. The thigh and leg width are similar - if anything, the Denime is a touch bigger. The Denime denim feels smoother. I haven't done a side-by-side comparison though and would expect there to be slightly different features... will try do that at some point. The sizing of the Denime is much smaller. The Denime's are a W36, the FW are a W34 and the FW are still bigger in the waist and hips.2 points

They look very good. Coin pocket also seems to be placed higher. Probably lots of other characteristic details. How would you compare them to the FW 1937 and the TCB 30s C?1 point

Thanks, @Dr_Heech + @Alec Leamas! Yeah, we’re really pleased with it, and can’t wait to move in (packing’s already in full swing). We’ve been searching on and off for the better part of a year, now. Facing the likely reality that we’ll be lifelong renters (if we want to continue living around here) has made it feel really important to find somewhere that we could see ourselves staying long-term—and this place really does tick all of the boxes, I think. In the end, it’s a little above our current budget, but the strong rent control laws here mean that finding a good place sooner rather than later could mean paying a lot less over the next 10+ years, even if it means we get to save a little less now…or so we’re telling ourselves. Anyway, yeah, maybe once we get settled I’ll post a bit of a tour. It’s a really lovely, well cared for ‘20s-ish little bungalow.1 point

I've had this Old Navy shirt for like 9 years now, longer than I've been interested in raw denim. It was just a cool shirt that fit me well, and has treated me well this whole time. The second to last picture shows what the fabric started out like where the placket has frayed and opened up. I've had to repair both elbows which I did with a fun floral fabric I had on hand.1 point

The Flat Head SNK-01 Great kicks, would get another pair if I could. Buttery soft leather and solid construction. Not worth MSRP (at least for my use case), but they used to show up on Yahoo pretty regularly for like 50% off and at that point it was hard to complain1 point

Mill Reef Gallop Oxfords, got these from Canvas in late 2020 Really cool shoes but they didn’t hold up great. Main complaint is the rubber at the heel coming delaminated and flapping around within just the first year or so; they haven’t seen a ton of wear since then1 point

Old Nigel Cabourn joints, got them on sale from Speedway in maybe 2018 Really like the discoloration of the canvas at high-sweat points, and the way the tongue has held creases and the laces have worn through the taping1 point
