Vintage Denim?

Thanks Broak old chum. That youths 1922 pair are indeed a 1927/28 pair and have all the hallmarks of the modern factory production line in their constuction (at the time) - you can see by the time that this pair were made,  the belt had become king but it would take around 10 years for Levis to catch up with the wearers' needs, and get shot of those suspender buttons. Mind you l think that because of the depression, a belt may have been a luxury around that time (or worse, used for something else?) Tough times.

I bought these Lee 200 (dry rigid) in 1975 in Italy, they were deadstock in sale as out of fashion in that period of bell bottom jeans, so I suppose they were from late60s-early 70s european production (made in belgium in the label). They don't have a selvage, when did Lee stop to make selvage jeans?

I had always assumed that the only military clothing Levi's ever made was the cold weather parkas for I think ( ?????) The Alaskan national guard bit I seen this in a lightning mag

Seems it may have only been a sample though going by the translated text below

The US Army is famous for its pullover denim utility jacket. It is assumed that this is a sample produced by Levi's. Originally, the U.S.ARMY metal button has a white stitch, but the same color as the fabric is used.

The least loved of the big 3. At least on this forum.
Wrangler will always be my favorite. Comes from spending time on my grandparent’s orchard and watching my grandpa starch his wranglers each day. He was a real cowboy and lived the lifestyle.
These are late 60s or early 70s wranglers can’t tell if they’re bluebell because the tag is completely worn off.

Great close-up of the broken twill Shredwin.

I have a question about this jacket. My uncle bought in Thailand in the early 70s. Apparently, it’s from Baron Tailors and obviously not Lee Brand. Just curious where the denim may have been sourced from? It appears to be selvedge and have some loom chatter on one of the arms. Thanks for any info.

@Duke Mantee These are the dog’s whatsits Duke. Where are the photos from? Interesting to see the front pocket rivet sit up on the waistband.

From here mate - they’re full of lovely details. I always wonder how influential other brands were to Levi’s in the late 19th C. ~ early 20th C. ... and vice versa
