I picked up my sorahikos from the store after getting them repaired...

and they were way more faded, softer, and the roping at the hem was more intense and tight. on top of that, the creases were now flat.

so it got me wondering...

does 45 rpm wash your jeans after a repair?

got pics?

i was told that washing the jeans ensures the thread used to repair the jeans shrinks and all that jazz which makes it stronger than just repairing and wearing.

Makes sense, although the three pairs of jeans I brought in to "the Denim Doctor" (Bears' in Shimokitazawa) were unwashed when I brought them in, and in the same state afterwards (sort of feel sorry for them now....). There are many places which will refuse to repair uncleaned items for hygiene reasons.

here's progress on ms. chicken's nando x nandos. about 7 weeks of wear. (i now relate to others who have been struggling taking pics of nandos since they're so dark.)

i bought ms. john11f the same pair to introduce her to our obsession to no avail. she says that it was too high waist for her...whatever.

i might be posting them in supermarket soon...

sorry to hear that. these are proving to be really fun jeans to wear for her.

but there's a right pair out there for her too.

how do you feel about the black overdye on the sumis? I saw them in the supermarket and that was the only thing keeping me way cuz I seen a bunch of people were unhappy with them

I wouldnt really call it "black" so much as the darkest fucking indigo known to mother nature.

They deffinetly arn't like my Flatheads where i'd expect to see the kind of results i have in the 6-7 months ive worn 'em. Im thinking these sorahiko's are gonna be life long labour of love...but in 2 years time? Mind blowing results should be expected.

so she's going the hard wear route? i wonder how those would turn out with frequent washings.

i think she's going to be washing them whenever they start to smell a bit funky. but from what i can tell so far, my guess is that these are better served washing more frequently than not. it's because these threads are so dark while the cores are so white, they become super-contrasty real fast. if you go an entire year without a wash with these, they could end up looking quite ridiculous, almost artificial.

are these sorahiko slims? i have the regular suminando sorahikos but i dont like the cut of the leg enough to wear them often. they are a bit too wide. just looking at getting something slimmer with the same denim and quality.

I really wanted those suminandos a couple of weeks ago to get a black blue fade. BUt i don't think it's going to happen. Finally posted my sorahikos in the evo thread.

I have some macro shots i took of the denim, but i didn't want to overwhelm the board with pictures.
