oui fucking oui! montrealeans (montrealites, montrealinians?) have plenty of things to thank the Jews for, most involving deli meat. my own shot of a schwartz's from last summer's vacation in perhaps my favorite north american city:

the carne asada fries vs. poutine debate is all a matter of exposure. sure 'taters smothered in heaping piles of salty meat, cheap cheese, sour cream, guac etc. almost make southern california worth living in on their own, but god dammit do i miss helping make plates full of gravy n' cheese curd disappear before my very eyes:
