Nope, not too late.

I just emailed Gordon and told him we were interested in the SDA-101 and the Fullcount 0105 (1953 model). I requested a longer inseam on the FCs so i'll let you know what he says. I also asked about getting a Duckdigger model if anyone is interested in that.

Edmond, no Stronghold and no wacky flame denim. That's not vintage. Well, Stronghold is but their price isn't. Too much monies Lebowski.

i would of been down for that too. dang why dont we just have a samurai contest pt 2!

Beucase people (like myself) are too lazy to organize one. I'd rather just join one. Although if there were another LHT Samurai Wrangler repro then I'd jump on it.

For 50 pairs on ordering denim, there will be no discount. I have asked Gordan this myself and MANY (like 10+ rakuten stores) about this and they said that it is not possible. While 50 paris of denim may seem like a surplus for us, it is not enough to qualify for a discount. Gordan said even the sufu660 contest got no discoutn even though they had 250 contestants. Good luck with the contest planning, Denim Phenom. I hope I shed some light.

edit: this was in response to happy hooligan asking if Fullcount would give a discount.

I'm in for whatever everyone decides on. It will be really interesting to see how a full cut/ non slim-denim will fade in a competition like this. I would vote for a style other than levis (Lee or wrangler or stronghold), but anything with a regular fit is cool with me.

there won't be any special batches unfortunately. It is hard to do modifications with Sugar Canes and I'll get the inseams of the raws. However, we can get discounts on the jeans (price still unknown yet) and working on a prize to offer.

if you guys want a specially made jeans for this contest, it's best to go with Plongin or what Gordon can provide for us.

After seeing the sc1945 fit pics a few pages back, I for one certainly couldn't wear them for a year.

DP, I remember you mentioned Gordon said something about Fullcount in their 15oz denim before?

Chicken: That be cheatin' !

Anything Duckdigger with a longer inseam gets my thumbs up...

You see my post on the previous page, DP?

I'm going to wait until I get a choice of cuts and then I'll put them up foe vote.

Mr. Invincible, that's awesome you're working the Leepro angle. Let me know how it works out and I'll continue working the Levis repro model.

I'm working with Gordon on the Levi's angle. I could ask him about doing the Samurai Leepro as well since he carries those. We could even go direct to Samurai and ask them if we wanted. From what I remember the girl (Toshiko?) is really friendly.

Gordon told me that a longer length is possible with both FC and SDA. He told me that any of their fits is an option and that he chose 101 and 0105 because they were closest to what we wanted. FC also has the option of using their 15oz. anniversary denim as well, if they have any of it left. This way it will satisfy the heavy denimheads.

Duckdiggers aren't an option because of the amount of detail and time necessary to construct a pair.

the sam leepros sounds like a great idea!

you should specify whether this is going to be a LHT contest or not and then give choices

LHT: Sam Leepros vs SDA 001s

RHT: Fullcounts vs SDA 101

Studio D'artisan has really underrated denim, the dark weft on the 00x's might turn some people off, they fade to almost a gun metal grey colour

Can anyone give a rundown on the different lee fits? 44 vs 30 vs 59 etc?

I really think the lee japans are a good choice since the SC leepros are out of production. They are also all about 19000 yen, so 19000 plus the 5% for paypal =19950 (if neeeded), plus 3700 for ems to North America = $220 USD, to your door, which would be the most they would be.

As for people talking about how the pockets are too far apart on the sugar canes and such, that is how lees usually are. They are designed to be cowboy pants and when you're on a horse you want to be able to sit flat on the saddle. Thus the pockets are more to the sides and less right under your butt. (Tell me if I got that wrong)

@crownzip- How much wear/washes? fit pics?

We need to pick a pair of jeans soon... I'm glad theres a lot of communication and dialogue, but people (me for example) are gonna start to become less interested if things drag on without much cohesiveness. Just my 2 cents...
