some random cat power record that's not as good as moon pix

If you're going to pick albums that are the best, shouldn't you be able to specify which one you'd want?

Moon pix was good, so of 2000s, maybe You Are Free?

I'd kinda like to add Blank wave Arcade from the faint, but I doubt it reached any critical acclaim that other indie records like Slanted & Enchanted in the 90s got

some of you are picking really awful shit that people barely remember now, let alone in 2010.

from a band i've been rediscovering my undying appreciation of, which was already hailed as an instant classic:

The National - Boxer

Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights

I second Kid A, but it's more of an unknown classic.

Your reasoning is a little off here. Kid A has sold more than five times the other two albums you mentioned combined. How is that unknown?

Jesus, you think all of those albums will attain "classic" status? I think you are seriously undervaluing the term. Hell, for some of them, I don't even think you listed their best albums. Just because Pitchfork gives an album a 9.0 or higher doesn't make it a classic...
