I'm heading up to Portland on Monday morning and staying until Tuesday night. The only thing set in stone is Ace Hotel. I plan on stopping by the Woodlands and Machus.

Any other menswear/boutiques/cool shops to check out? Restaurants? Etc, etc.

hit up saturday farmers market, walk up to pittock mansion take in the view, go through forrest park, check out some breweries, rent a bike and ride some bridges.

Best places to eat in the Pearl District (walking distance from Ace Hotel)?

All I have so far is Kenny and Zuke's Delicatessen, Clyde Common, and food carts. I could also use some recommendations on some good food carts close by.

This might be a little late for you, but if you're staying at the Ace, Tasty and Alder for breakfast, Lardo for lunch and Gruner for dinner are the 3-block max best spots for sure.  Heavy hitters on all of those menus if you like meat, butter, and cheese.

Yeah, I left on Tuesday night but I appreciate the suggestions and I'll definitely give those places a try next time (hopefully soon).

I've been to both, as well as Vinnie's at the Ford and they are all pretty solid. Bart's is cheap and they are great, but it's a crap shoot to get in and you could wait quite a while (all walk-in, and they take their time, but in a good way). Modern Man is nice, but I had a better haircut at Vinnie's TBH.

I have a buddy who works for nike and he generally says no.  I mean, it's cheap - but nike employees can get the same discounts by shopping on the nike employee store website.  occasionally the actual place will have stuff they don't have online, but it's rare, apparently.

of course, he could be bullshitting so no one ever bugs him for a pass.

is the nike employee store as great as people make it out to be?

I just went last week and it was pretty insane, they had all the new flyknit frees, etc.. even had all the newest tech running shorts, windbreakers, and all.
