Dinner was a cheap and kinda weird mix of food. All culled from one of the quintessentially good ol hawker centres in S'pore.

We had satay (barbequed sweet meat on skewers) with peanut gravy and ricecakes, char kway teow (flat rice noodles in a thick dark soya sauce with lup cheong or chinese sausage and mussels).

Some Chinese western (yes, an oxymoron I know) food -- a mixed grill of pork chop, fish fillets and chicken cutlet (not pictured).

And a random slice of pizza (don't ask). With ice-cold Hoegaarden.

I had the char kway teow with tabasco sauce and my bf thought I was weird.

^ hell yeah, that ramen looks good. a whole egg! lucious.

i liked the way you say that. makes me want to go eat more.

plongin! how on earth do you eat that egg out of the ramen bowl? do you have to get in with your hands and crack it open???

or be super-chopsticks-man?

its not a whole egg! its seasoned, so the white actually turned brown. don't be fooled. thats not the shell!

haven't done this in a while, got inspired by an episode of jamie oliver. step by step process (not that anyone here will really give a fuck anyway, this is entirely self-indulgent)

prep the ingredients

dsc03558pa2.jpg

clean and soak the vongole

dsc03561yn5.jpg

cook the linguine

dsc03560mi2.jpg

boil the vongole

dsc03564ew0.jpg

fry the garlic and onion in olive oil with a bit of butter

dsc03562um9.jpg

throw in the linguine and tomatoes

dsc03563hl3.jpg

throw in everything and add a little more olive oil and diced herbs

dsc03565hn0.jpg

voila!

dsc03566pm1.jpg

topped with a nice cold one

plongin, you're absofuckinglutely right.

This ramen place is da bomb. valhalla -- greedy pig-- topped up his bowl as I was only halfway through my meal.

P1030591.jpg

Could have done without the chicken meatballs though. There were a bit meh.

Will try the pork belly or cha siu side dish next. :)

i go with a regular kaki, and we top up the ramen at least twice.
