Many thanks Fardin,

Yeah love it too, I want to wear it all the time (well, at least until the weather forces it back on the hanger). Still want a nylon flight jacket mind.

Not gonna bother getting a BR B-15c now, one jacket with a mouton collar is enough, but will still look out for a BR nylon jacket - probably an L-2 or an MA-1. Unfortunately it will be a second hand one as Eastman have recently put there prices up too much (£120 on L-2's and £100 on B-15's and MA-1's!!)

Will try and get some better detail shots of my GW one day.

well my zip started opening up at the bottom after i had pulled it up. i could not fix it. so i send the jacket to aero and had them replace the zip. didnt trust anyone in vienna to take the whole zip out and sew a new on in with the right thread and all. i just had to pay the shippment. the rest was for free

fardin, did they changed the whole zipper? its mostly only the zip that is worn, not the teeth.on my jacket i just removed the little stop on top, pulled the old zipo out and slided the new one in,than i fitted the new stop with a plier.perfect so far.even the wornout zip worked for a while after pushing it a bit together.after the FC issue iam anxious sending expensive items away.

Dr_Heech, that's an amazing jacket - and great fit on you!

Rirawin, I'd love to see more detail of your visvim jackets!

Just spent some very enjoyable time browsing through this thread - some great stuff here.

I was wearing my Aero D-1 today, and I thought I'd post some pics up here as well :)

it should be noticeable if you inspect the sewing, but i really doubt they changed the whole thing.

my FCs are back since a month,it was just a "minor" delay of eight weeks!

Received some leather sample patches from Aero Leather to help me decide. Think I'll opt for the seal jerky horsehide. Anyone own a jacket in this leather?

you can ask the guys at fedora lounge, there are many who have the jerky. or the vintage leatherjacket forum. i bet crownzip , jake and airfrog know everything about it too.

Slab,

Their jerky horsehide is real good stuff - just make sure you specify how jerky you want the jacket - mismatched panels or no, super relatively even or uneven (i.e. grain all over or smooth in places, quite jerky in others). They will try to do what you want.

I've got a six month old jerky horse jacket from Aero and I like it a lot. It's soft to the touch but tough. I wear it everyday and it still has a way to go before being broken in but is still very comfortable. I'm not a biker (at least not yet) so FQHH scared me.

thanks guys; i'd like to check the vintage horsehide as well; their picture on the website looks great

I had Amanda send me samples of the current batches of the brown and the vintage brown FQHH. The vintage is just a little bit softer, with barely noticeable distressing. After having a Aero Longshoreman in brown FQHH which took about 8 years to really break in, this time I'm going for the vintage brown. Having a Grizzly made up in vintage brown FQHH with rust mouton and a bit of custom detail.

Almostnice

At last as, promised, some fit pics of my Goodwear M-422. I had a friend take some pics with their Canon EOS.

To recap - This jacket is custom made to fit me, plus I asked for two extra inches on the body, which although is not a true M-422 'military fit', it is IMO just right for me.

Cheers for that AF, yeah I love the fit. Your jacket was the inspiration and I've never been happier (even better than the two originals that have passed through my hands). It's a great autumn-winter/ winter-spring jacket, especially with our cold easterly winds of late, and the collar is a great neck-warmer.

Also, just bought a BNWT Buzz 1942 Navy deck jacket for next winter, should be arriving any day.

I'll have to hold off for a while with any more purchases in the near future.

How's the 1880's btw?

I'm digg'n the 1880s. I have them on right now. I did a soak first on these' Seems like the same denim as my 1917s and those went 5 month with no water so I thought I'd give these a soak and see if theres a dif in fading from the same denim after 5 months. I can tell you the 1880s after the soak are not as stiff as my 1917s were raw so I doubt I will get fades as crisp on the 1880s as I got on he 17s.

The denim on the 15s is just incredible. Just wish they would straightened out the back pocket issue and finally make a decent authentic workable buckle.

okay, sorry for all the questions

I asked Amanda about sizing; she advised a size 38 based on following measurements: (wearing a tight t-shirt)

Height 171 cm

Chest relaxed 91 cm

Chest expanded (Breathe in) 96 cm

Waist 76 cm (1" below belly button)

Stomach 83 cm

wouldnt a size 38 be a bit on the big side? Im usually a size 36 in jackets and shirts, unless Aero Leather is sized smaller?

Not all that authentic. If you want about as close as you can get to WWII A-2 see John Chapman at Goodwear
