This Saturday, June 28, is the 70th Birthday of New Chinatown! Starting at 7:00pm, the Central Plaza will come alive with big band music, rickshaws, 30s and 40s attire, and illuminated red lanterns. Basically it'll look like the set of Shanghai Surprise around here. I'll be Madonna, you can be Sean.

Also, the Hong Office Building, which is now home to Sister, Via Cafe, Realm, and Choose Chinatown, has been restored with its original neon for a special installation of Historic Chinatown Neon in Postcards. The lighting ceremony is at 8:30. This will be rad.

And, of course, Welcome Hunters will be open late for an in-store event so come hang with us! We'll have complimentary beer and wine from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.

Other Chinatown events on Saturday night include openings at Sister and Peres Projects.

Grab a mai tai, hop in a rickshaw, and we'll party like it's 1939!
