How would you compare these three brands in terms of their core denim models: Resolute, Orslow, Workers. All three fall into a similar market class: simple, neat cuts that are vintage inspired with modern accommodations. All three pair well with ivy, trad and modern styles, moreso than workwear. Of the three I have experience with Orslow, the cut and color of which I enjoy but I find the oxidized rivets to be a little cheesy. Workers makes exceptional OCBDs and outerwear and I am denim curious. Resolute comes in a range of inseam lengths which is helpful for tell people. Do any other brands fall within this niche?

I'm looking for jeans that are slim in the thigh (below 12") with little to no taper below the knee, so they can be worn easily with boots (kinda like tight boot cuts??) I'm thinking maybe Iron Heart 666 or The Strike Gold 2105. Also I prefer a lower rise. Anyone know which would be better of these two pairs, or should I try something else? Thanks!

West Ride would be the first brand I’d look forward to trying if I were ever after that sort of cut

Maybe also Trophy Clothing?

  • 2 weeks later...

Looking for a repro pair with
- a red tag
- 13-14oz denim that marbles and fades quickly (i know i know... i have some slow faders already and i want something rewarding)
- med-high rise
- as straight as possible from knee down

anyone have any recs? considered so far:
- warehouse 1001xx: banner denim seems ideal for me but the WH cuts are all so tapered. Got a 25th anniversary 50s pair 2 sizes up in hopes of making it work but alas...the rise is too much. also wasn't a fan of the shallow pocket bags
- tcb: the brand + story is charming and the 50s cut seems wonderful but seems too soft to fade the way i want, maybe the 40s?
- denime 220A
- freewheelers

@winteracr The Denime 220A fades when you look at it. it's the quickest fading denim I've ever worn. While the rise is indeed high an also higher than I usually like, it didn't feel this way when being worn. Front pockets or back pockets?

Also Freewheelers is not fading this quickly, probably the slowest of the jeans you mentioned.

I have a pair of Banner Denim and a pair of 50s with similar amount of wear. IMG_1227.thumb.jpeg.37b99755756eec5c3d8c339bf431d8bc.jpeg

im currently on a trip but I can take some more laid flat photos once I’m home if it would be helpful. Whiskering is more pronounce on the Banner, while the TCB have some more highlights through the look chatter/slub. WH is probably more marbled overall but there’s some nice marbling around the TCB pockets and really nice puckering.

@winteracr I was able to dig up the photos of each that I posted in August - one peek of being in airport limbo for 36 hours due to heavy ice. They’re a little more faded now, particularly in the lap and knees, but you’ll get the ideaIMG_8068.jpeg.0512b6a3bac915f91d4dd192799256a1.jpegIMG_8064.jpeg.18e57381c142e70014ac27d1e75b97fe.jpegIMG_8067.jpeg.4d868499df628b8652db973abcc01c47.jpegWH
