I've talked to the owners of a bar that only serves Belgian and Belgian-styled beers about Westvleteren. He said they used to sell it, but then it got all hyped up and the monks refused to increase production so now it goes for $20/bottle on eBay Belgium. The taste is very good, but there are lots of other Belgian beers that taste just as good and don't cost nearly as much (although still quite expensive compared to say...PBR). Westmalle, St. Bernardus, Rochefort, etc.

Yuengling Black & Tan is a great cheap beer. Too bad it's East coast only...

Victory has a few good ones, but they overhop their beers IMO (like most Oregon breweries too).

My top 5 of the moment:

* Gouden Carolus Noel

* Ayinger Celebrator

* Weihenstephaner Hefeweisen

* St. Berndarus Xmas Ale

* La fin du Monde

Who's Burbon Stout?
