Alright fellas, before I start sharing some concept from my sketchbook and some progress, I'd like to talk about the background of this project.

Project name "Untranslatable"   or someone call it MASA, short name of the Denimasa.

I've made Denimasa for over 6 years as a heritage and traditional style and barely changes.

Everytime I pick up my pen and start drawing something, it always end up as a pic of jeans…

I keep asking myself why jeans? why jeans? why jeans? The only thing I can answer to myself is jeans make me happy…that's it.

I can't explain why jeans make me happy, I just feel happy and I bet someone might feel the same way I do.

And here comes the name "Untranslatable"

The idea of this logo came from the most basic but so much important components of the jeans, tacks and threads.

Tack, a small zigzag bar , worm like, found on belt loops and area that needs to be strengthen.

Thread, surely for sewn up the whole jeans.

I use the MASA to compose the logo,

Anyone can see the "M"  two "A" and  "S" in logo ?

Concept and some sketches,

M ribbon on the patch, pocket's corner and waist are just like signature of the craftsman. The M ribbons on each jeans are unparalleled as a unique of stroke and sewing style of several craftsman.

The M-ribbon symbol, the first logo of Masa,  represent gentleness and classiness. When it some with one long tail, that means something not following the rule.

I leave the back pocket blank, and add ribbon details at the corner. And I add a small piece of fabric under the bow.

I traveling around the world and sometime I bought a nice scarf, handkerchief and some are just nice fabrics but I have no idea what to do with them. I open my box and use them for a small decoration. You will hear those fabrics whisper Hello to you, just a like a greeting from around the world.

This collection I decide to stop focusing on a thick rugged hairy slubby denim. I decide to go back to what I really like, a comfy jeans not too much and not too flat in texture that come with organic cotton.

So I made a 13.7 oz selvedge organic cotton.

Full shots of the jeans,

Minimalist style but bold, Gentle but aggressive.

All details are hidden in the right place and will show off in the right time, just like hidden gems.

From the close-up shots you will see many details, but I put and hide all of them in the right place, not too show off, but will properly shine when you look in properly angle.
