Heads up on the sizing: you need to size up from your normal Japanese belt size. I am normally a 34 and I got a 36 belt from Tenjin Works. Email Mr. Hideto Tagaki through his website in simple English. He'll get back to you. Check my post in the Options for buying Japanese Denim thread ---> http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?p=1845702#post1845702

Hey all,

About a month ago I saw another poster put pictures up of their Crazy Canadian Leather wallet. I had the recent pleasure of working with Travis from CC. Great one-on-one service and ability to customize my wallet and belt. We spoke on the phone a number of times to bounce ideas and came up with a concept.

Really recommend his work, especially to the Canadians on this forum!

Just received these in the mail today.

i got a question, i got a untanned tanner belt in my normal size and from measuring it out it fits similar to other belts i have that i use and love.

but this belt seems tighter somehow, perhaps its because of the fold of leather that holds the buckle (which i have never had before) or something else....

do these belts stretch out and soften up and stuff?

anyone know what im talking about or am i just being crazy?

any recommendations on what to use on a pair of elk leather visvims?

theyre well worn in and Ive never used anything on them before...

I really wouldn't know. I think someone posted somewhere that they went with a small amount of obenaufs (I cant remember what) on a pair of elk fbts, and it made it excessively greasy and darkened it quite a bit (well that part was expected)

i dont remember the final outcome of the situation though

not sure about the fold of the leather but it does give a little after it breaks in with some good wear. Not a whole lot of stretching so to say but it loosens up.

Part of it is that they stretch a bit lengthwise and part of it is that the leather is rigid when new, but mostly it's that a worn-in belt isn't straight.

If you lay out a nicely worn belt flat on the ground, you'll notice that it curves, or waves around a bit. As you wear the belt, it'll adjust to your waistline over time.

It's all part of the same process that makes us love a lived-in pair of once-raw jeans, or the amber honey color of aged natural leather.
