Levi's Vintage Clothing

Recommended Posts

Actually I just posted a question in the "best-way-to-shrink-jeans" thread regarding hot soaking jeans with boiling water...

If it isn't problem with you guys, I would like to get your opinion.

Thing is I bought a pair of LVC 501 '55 size 36/36 which is 3" too big in both inseam and waist. So I want maximum shrinkage. Would boiling water (mixed with warm tabwater) in a long soak and throwing them in the dryer do the trick?

BTW: Is there a "Big E" thread here on Sufu for really old original vintage Levis? I have been looking for one as I would like to see your collections and your thrift - and eBay finds.

Cheers

Pink...I don't think the guy giving you a hard time has much of a clue.

Yeh, its only a picture with hard-marked 26.90 on the tag but you're just gonna have to trust me on this one.

Also shorty long, you're right Im a clueless moron. Before you sound like an idiot why dont you call up ANY levis store and ask them how much a pair of LVC 646 bells cost. Nice try you two, take your scam job elsewhere you wont be making 100 profit here.

actually they retail for $175, on sale now at the levi's.com for 154. what are you talking about? please let me know where you can any lvc raw jeans for 29$

So the levis online is the definitive place to buy LVCs huh.. hmm I wonder why I was able to pick up my pair at a Miami Levis for under 30... Maybe they were selling fakes or something who knows.

I'll tell you exactly where to get 'any lvc raw jeans for 29$'. Go to levi.com, go to store locator, find location closest to you, call them up and have them ship it to you for 36 which includes UPS ground.

HOLY SHIT you are a moron. I really hate to be an asshole and all seeing as this is just a jeans thread but come on. LVC 1966 646 BELL BOTTOMS. So its easier for you to understand, 646 is the MODEL number for the Levis "BELL BOTTOMS". Its really not that hard to understand it. How about this. Its too late now, but instead of making yourself seem like an idiot, you could have called up ANY levis store and they would have told you the same damn thing.. Actually you didnt even have to do that, just by reading a few posts above, you could have guessed that if Pink was selling these for 125 and the online had these for 150ish, wouldn't it be logical to say that this isn't your average quality levis jean you find at Macys? Its really THAT simple.

Dude, you seem like a really up-tight asshole.

im really not, you just seem like a really stupid fuck.

If someone tells you that a pair of LVCs are on sale for under 30, what would make you think he was lying to you?

If that same person tried to explain HOW to get the said jean for 30, why would you say the jeans are not what he claims it to be?

But main point is, you just didnt do your hw and ended up looking like a fucktard. I can live with being a"really up-tight asshole" on an internet thread. But I would hate to be the fucktard on the same thread.

and if anyone is interested in them, from sizes 28, 29, 30, 31, let me know before they go on ebay. (except the ones i keep, obviously)

thanks

so because you couldn't decide what size to get for these, you spent (at best case scenario for your wallet) $154 each hoping one of them would fit? If 28 doesn't work out, maybe 3 sizes up might work concept? And $600 dollars later, you feel like you need to sell it to any interested parties for a cool discounted price of $125 (while losing $120+ of your money)?

Sounds like you saw these at a levis for 26.90, grabbed a few sizes and wanted to make a quick buck. I don't blame you at all

does not matter whether u bought it brand new, bought used, stole from a fucking bum or an alien dressed you up it one after pleasuring you. do your damn research, get one that fits by accounting for shrinking AND stretching over time. if you werent half the dim witted joker, you would've known that these shrink about 10% over about 10 initial washes and also stretch a bit with wear. Don't even bother ever showing your fit pics on these, i can already tell you without seeing that these are a horrid fit. Enjoy your ugly 501s that are most likely too baggy for you (not to mention the ugly misshapen patch).

help me out here guys. last year, i started wearing the 1947 LVC i bought from the Levis store in SanFran. after wearing it for about a year without washing it, the waist has expanded a bit, and i feel as though it has gotten a little too loose for me. i wanted the denim to hang around my waist, so i measured it and i got size 33 or 32 3/4. the size 34 i have right now measures around 17 or 17.25 inches laid flat.

should i soak this in warm water and hope it shrinks to the size i want, or is it hopeless and i should just get a new one? i picked up an extra pair of 1947 when Levis had a sale. i got a size 32/32. i tried it on and today, the waist fits real snug. i'm not sure if i want it to fit this snug because when i do wash the denim, it's going to get tighter on the waist line where i won't be able to squeeze in it.

1. why dont u just wash it?

2. denim stretches.

I haven't washed it because i'm stilll waiting for the indigo to fade off. also, how do i go about washing this anyway? people write so many ways to wash a denim that i don't even kno where to start. some says just soak it, some says just throw it in the washing machine and give it a cold wash.

Yo numbnut, I told you two times where to find sub $30 LVC jeans. TWO FUCKING TIMES. Call up Miami, Chicago. The numbers on the Levi's website, the same site you supposedly bought your 646's from. I just called NY levis, its 26.90 there as well.. So its either you're lying to us or they were fucking late on putting these on clearance.. BY 3 WEEKS. It doesn't happen. Quit trying to scam people here. Its so fucking obvious what your intent is. NO ONE in their right fucking minds would buy 4 pairs of $150+ jeans just to "try it on for size". You're NOT gonna profit off of us. End of story.
