Did a little cleaning up in the garage this weekend.

Time lapse of me cleaning out and rearranging some things.

My dog Chancho kept me company. She has been naked (no collar) for the last couple of days. Need to get that back on her.

Gave the pants a hot soak. They have so much dye in them. Really. Never seen anything like these before.web.jpg?ver=13273818620001

Did some measurements before and after. No real change waist came back to 35" might have lost a half an inch in length. More interesting was that the reasons these were seconds maybe had to do with the 36" right leg and 37" left leg.

This is from turning the pants right side out and cuffing the pants when damp.

DAMN. that's crazy. i really would like to see these bad boys when they're washed to holy hell. maybe an old denim jacket or chambray sky blue tint to them? either way, those hands are crazy. wear it with pride!

great update Ihate...

I'd hate to get suck in the rain wearing my pants... The inside of my belt has a nice shade of blue to it....

Has anyone else washed or soaked their pants yet?

here’s another update.....

starting the day with some fresh apple and pear juice.

then we headed to a nearby cafe in the park for breakfast with some friends. Had the most amazing pancakes and berries.

on the way out, drooled over some more delicious looking cakes and pastries

obligatory fit pic

i’ve been using a japanese cotton handkerchief in my back pocket to add some colour to the indigo. can begin to see some fading at seam areas....

Don’t know if any of you noticed, but I’m cuffing them with the ‘tender co. double cuff’ - member rodeo bill posted in the tender co. thread - i think its great! I really like the way they look. its a great way to reduce some inseam length and yet expose the hem for some potential roping to occur as opposed to regular double cuffs

spent the afternoon lazing around the house before heading off for dinner

I haven't been up to much really, quite a bit of thrifting (outside of denim it's my only real hobby).

here are some recent finds, all from the local goodwill:

Got a recent job opportunity. A sister store is re-modeling and needs help. I was selected to help, it's a pretty sweet gig. A stipend for fuel and food, plus overtime. It's a double blessing of sorts, I'll get all those perks and *hopefully* it's a first step towards a promotion etc. Not tying my entire future up into it, but I am glad at all the opportunities they provide.OHH, and I'll be working overnights so 5 weeks of my LF's being worn free and not covered up by duck khaki.

Perhaps I'm wrong here, but doesn't roping typically occur when the hem has been chain-stitched? That said, did anyone who hemmed their pair have them chain-stitched? It'd be interesting to compare roping effects to the pairs that haven't been. I'm triple-cuffing, so I'll just have to admire other pairs to scratch that itch, I suppose.

surly - you are right about the roping and chainstiching. For me, I'm still considering my hemming options. These are in fact a little too long for my liking, so I've been thinking of getting them shortened and chainstitched. In the meantime, double cuffing them this way works for me in length and also for the hem to hopefully get some wear as well, rather than folded inside and not get any action at all. I kind of like the look of the hem peeking out

Paul - very informative as always

ranon - yes they are indeed alden x context roys

surly, the hem wasn't chain stitched to begin with, so i thought it not necessary to take the extra step and send it out somewhere. should be getting my pair back early next week.

hey fellas-

did a hot soak last night. well, i don't know what the difference is between my soak and ihateb.w's soak, but i lost a good 1 1/2, or 2 inches in length. i was double-cuffing and now no cuff is the fit. check the muck water :) no change in fit anywhere else, but people might want to consider cold water for washing. esp. those that hemmed already.

so this weekend I was going to post a cool video of the pants and me going for a bike ride. I bought this iphone clamp-thing and attached it to my bike... well it didn't turn out exactly like planned and actually looks pretty sucky... but I did get this one shot where the camera moved into close to the bike but you can see some nice fading on the back of the legs when the sun hits it right, but the video really is shot all wrong...

Kansas, congrats on doing your first soak... I also double roll and would hate to lose the selvedge turn... I guess I'll cold soak and hope for the best....
