Huaraches are so cool. Half of me wishes they were widely available, but the other half of me knows they will become the next Roshe Runs if that's the case.

 

I love Roshes, but it kind of bums me out whenever I see a kid with a Daimond supply or Obey shirt and matching Nikes. Such a good sillouette though.

The Roshe story is sad. Such a good shoe but the commercialisation of them has absolutely ruined the appeal. Nike have played it perfectly, produce a shoe that appeals to the masses at a low price point = $$$$

Totally agree, but on the bright side, at least the shoes aren't as much of an eyesore as Nike Shox or something.

Some roshes for sure. To me the only roshes that look good really are the ones that are all black. Part of me dies when I see someone rocking roshes with sorbet colored accents and some nonsense dangling off of them. I just think they have a nice sillouette that gets completely ruined if there is too much going on.

 

Definitely a polarizing shoe though, I find most people either think they are cool or hate them.

^they're okay actually. saturation is annoying by extension of who you see it on—i'm not really at all part of that obey snapback diamond supply crooks & castles lifestyle, know what i mean? >_> toebox's shape (or lack thereof rather) irks me. plus sole can age horribly in some instances and just go straight banana
just generally feel like there's better things out there, too

I'm okay with roshes. They're a nice comfortable summer shoe, but then again I've seen Roshes on a total of 5 people IRL.

I like both Pigalle and RT collabs. But the classic all-white AF1 beats them imo

However, the leather applied to the RT and Pigalle AF1s can't be ignored. And I just don't know about the dye on the Pigalle jawnz... Kind of stupid, kinda' cool. RT "Ultimate Warrior" AF1s are of course tacky (props to those who bought the boot ones)...somewhat cool also

I don't have a problem with roshes looking like shit or being commercial, but mostly because they aren't connected at all with the history of innovation that's core to the nike brand.

really? i'd thought part of why they were such a big deal for nike was the minimal "zen" nature of the shoe; supposed to be an achievement from a design perspective—eliminating all the unnecessary frills. it kind of blew up into (locally at least) vans authentics level hype on merits of that.

Yeah say what you will about the aesthetics of the roshe but it's a unique and in a way even iconic design. They're like 21st century chucks.

I recall seeing the Roshes when they were first released and buying a pair. The retailers could not sell their full quota so returned them to Nike. They then ended up at the Factory Outlet stores in the colours that were just re-released and still no one would buy them. Fast forward 2-3 years and every retailer has sold out of a double size run. It's incredible how many people will buy something purely because it's on trend.

yes, i suppose they're a good design from a "solving a problem" perspective but i dunno... sometimes good design isn't good design.

 

btw hell yeah on xi lows - lowtop bball shoes > hightop bball shoes for me in almost every instance.  court forces for instance

Edit: And am I the only one who has a love-hate relationship with the Hyperrevs? I want to like them really bad but something about them just throws me off. I think it's the panel detailing/lil mountains by the big swoosh.
