Glad to see the package arrived. Those violets are sooo good. They taste like soap (not that I've eaten soap) to the uninitiated--hope you like em. Put one in your favorite soda and it adds an interesting flavor, it'll fizz up pretty good though so watch for that.

Just got my sweet NY themed package from o0mega0o who was actually my swapee aswell, the wait was worth it! ill post some pics later.

the shirt fits great thanks dude, been planning a ny trip so the books are pretty handy aswell, the whole package smelt like violet due to the candies haha.

alright fuck it. i have been lucky enough to receive a package every time in the swap, and im grateful for that. i also did my best every time to send out a cool/semi-thoughtful package.

forgive me if this sounds like orion-style bitchassness (and i'm sure it does), but my partner sent me 3 packages of pocky and a dc metro card. homeboy got one of the illest packages in the swap too (cyberpunk's). i'm not saying there should be a minimum dollar amount, but there needs to be a minimum effort level here... not right to put out so little and receive so much in return.

I think v5 needs a next level status involved in it some how like a step yo game up type shit maybe? I dont know but maybe a min dollar amount? I know it means less people might participate but it would involve a higher level of dope packages. Problem is how would we kno who to involve in it? Maybe v5 cordinator could go thro previous players in superswaps and have v5 be invite only? Or have previous superswapers nominate candidates for v5? I dont know just throwin sum ideas out there.

the thing is, I wouldn't mind a package with like nothing in it if it was thoughtful.

I tried to pick out stuff that would be awesome for my partner, like the kind of shit that I figured he would appreciate regardless of dollar value. I definitely didn't shell out as much as some of the sicker packages from this swap, but I seriously spent a week picking the perfect combination of ridiculousless.

I think bryanarb is right - some people get awesome shit, some people don't, but in the end it's the thought that counts. People just need to jump into the swap willing to put the time in to get something meaningful.

Is this really bitchassness though? I see it more like people taking advantage, getting hooked up, then sending out shit. I 100% don't believe in the "the thought is what counts" bullshit, and if you're gonna participate then you should put in a reasonable amount of effort. I mean, come on, it REALLY isn't THAT hard or THAT much of a financial burden. If you don't have funds available to "buy Uniqlo socks or fancy beer" or whatever, then make something, or pull something interesting from your collection of shit to send. Send some pictures of your area, a map of your city, something that either conveys who you are, or something that references your partner's interests. Seriously, how much money gets spent on these things? With shipping like $50? Maybe less? I think these swaps have gotten super lax on what people can reasonably expect from eachother, and I'd be disappointed to open a box full of old newspapers or a fart machine toy or whatever. Also, put a note in the box explaining what everything is and why it's relevant for fucks sake, especially if the meaning of things you include are obvious to you and not everyone else. For reference, I think Lendo knocked it out of the park with interesting stuff that probably didn't cost much. I don't wanna keep kicking people for too long over shitty packages, and I hope we've made it abundantly clear what should be expected of eachother. What sucks is that the people that have been called out for shipping lame packs are some of the coolest people on the board, hopefully everyone will take notice of people who do it right moving forward.
