just bought my friend's rebel xti which included his Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L lens. This was the first picture I ever took with it, so criticize the crap out of it since I'm new to this hobby. The brown thing in the background is a horse btw.

You should of got closer to the flower. The horse is kind of distracting. The leaves on the left are sort of out of focus. The colors are amazing though .

Nonetheless, congratulations on the your purchase. Just keep practicing by taking loads of pictures.

agree with the last guy, closer on the subject, and also some post processing wouldn't hurt. It looks kind of hazy which makes the details go away a little
