& the back pocket, patched + lined with some old plain weave raw hemp (also added backing to the main leg panel where it was starting to wear through) Forgot to take a final photo from the outside…stay tuned for when the rest is done, I guess12 points

Not today but recent trip to Johannesburg... A few pics of the Anglo American (think gold, diamonds, precious metals, De Beers) buildings in Main Street, Johannesburg centre of the old CBD... now minor part last century corporate colonial splendour, major part modern run down inner city depravation. The Stampede or The Impala Fountain by Herman Wald, in bronze, stands out... "The Stampede was my first impression in this country, nature’s most graceful charge that competes with any man-made efforts, unconditionally acclaimed by child or adult, by amateur or connoisseur, unbound by time, fashion or ‘isms’." Fascinating country that gets more fascinating over time as stories unfold And the Jo'burg winter sky never disappoints...10 points

Spent the second half of this week dyeing baby clothes for a new niece. They’re all cotton. I don’t often dye with cellulose fibers because it’s such an extra hassle—but the flip side of this is that, when I do, I tend to throw as much in there as I can Had a cotton bandana laying around for who knows how long (I think it shipped w/ something or other from the Trestle Shop)…now it’s pink Tannic acid -> alum + lots of soda ash -> ground cochineal6 points

I just Googled those shorts. Japanese price 25.300 yen which would be around 150 euro. I can also buy them from Son of a Stag for only 400 euro. Granted, no additional taxes and free shipping but what is up with that markup????2 points

Warehouse 1001xx Banner Denim , Size 34 I measured the unwashed pair taking pics, thereafter carried out washing , first hot soak for almost 45-60 minutes , thereafter two cycles of machine wash, each of them 30 minutes approximately with 40C temperature and no spin. I measured after wash again and took pics. I wore them for approximately 2 days (8-10 hours every day), measured again after use and took pics. I notice that pair stretches back to original non wash measurements in areas such as waist and back rise, others areas also stretch back to some extent where pressure was given during the use. Here are the measurements in CMs: Unwashed / Washed / After use: Waist: 94 / 88 / 94 Front Rise: 31 / 29.5 / 30 Back Rise: 41 / 38 / 41 Thigh: 33 / 31 / 32.5 Knee: 25 / 23 / 24 Inseam: 84 / 77 / 78 Hem: 23.5 / 22 / 22 Based on feedback from members here and Hinoya/Warehouse websites, I estimated 7cm shrinkage in inseam, so orders OD to hem the pair at 84. After wash I found the pair 77cm exactly what we estimated , after use while sitting on the ground inseam stretches a little bit, I measured and found 78cm inseam , exactly what I was looking for (77-78cm) Also to note that , after wash I noticed roping started to appear in hems (please see the pictures below), Warehouse sizing is not able to understand, I have a pair 800xx , bought in 2019/2020, which is also size 34 one wash, when I received it , it was 83cm only and stretched after use and became 88cm. Whereas 1001xx size 34 in non wash is measured 94cm. my pair of 800xx became unusable due to my waist size now, thanks again to @beautiful_FrEaK who advised to stretch using different techniques , one of them was to "use pants stretchers" , I bought from Amazon and now able to use 800xx that is stretched currently to 92cm by using the tool1 point

Here is an update of purchasing a pair of Warehouse 1001xx from Hinoya, Thanks to Okayama Denim who carried out Chain Stitch Hemming (Hinoya has a policy not to carry out hemming for overseas customers for new pairs), OD claims that they have Union Special 43200G machine. Warehouse 1001xx size 34 non wash is having 94cm waist width, which is more than 36inches, whereas OOE Yofukuten OA01xx-552 non wash in size 36 is having 91.5 cm (i.e. 36 inches) , I always prefer to have actual measurement waist width as per my requirement rather than believing on size tags1 point

Old Nigel Cabourn joints, got them on sale from Speedway in maybe 2018 Really like the discoloration of the canvas at high-sweat points, and the way the tongue has held creases and the laces have worn through the taping1 point
