I received a vintage Levi's type 3 recently and I think I have the date narrowed down to 1969-1971. Hoping someone here knows more! Sorry for the terrible balance on some of the outdoor photos. The denim has some nice character and I love the crinkly collar. 525 button stamp (El Paso) Single row of stitching at the bottom button hole. After soaking in vinegar the buttons oxidized.11 points

Continuing from above... I heard from @Double 0 Soul... he's doing well... albeit 'elbows deep' in house renovations and work which has left him zero time for online socialising... I think that means we can expect he'll have a few stories (and pics) to share when he returns...9 points

@istewi Little e on red tab plus 2nd gen wash tag puts it at least c.1974. Thought 524 was el Paso but anyway nice score and it fits perfectly.2 points

Went into Self Edge today looking for a Hawaiian shirt fully expecting to buy something from Sun Surf and walked out with this instead. Love the print and the fit is really nice, will be bringing it on vacation next week. Plus it was my wife's favorite, so had to get it.2 points

@shredwin_206 thanks I had a suspicion that might be the case. Now I just need to get these bad boys hemmed and wear the crap out of them. Hope to have some progress shots in a few months!1 point

@mlwdpHodism made a bunch of clothes for the film as well. Hardy is wearing the brander jacket throughout and the film and I think he made some of the jeans Butler is wearing1 point

Lots of info out there on the Internet @istewi and many opinions too. I don't know much about single/double stitching on cuffs/waistband as a dating tool but the jacket fits you and that's the most important thing imo.1 point

@Dr_Heech thanks! With some difficult I was able to find a Japanese blog, riddled with hundreds of ads, that had a table of all the factory numbers. There were three or four El Paso plants, but maybe it’s a shaky source haha. Did the single and double stitch overlap a few years? I think a couple of other shaky sources said it changed around 71 or 72.1 point

I’m really jealous of those. Passed on them when they came out because I was tired of Warehouse’s tiny + flimsy pocket bags and didn’t want to commit to another pair, but I saw them in S&S a few months ago and was surprised to see full-length bags made from a nice medium weight bull denim…they were all out of my size, though, as was everyone else by then. Oh well—your pair’s looking fantastic @olmecasteve1 point

Expensive fashion boots are nothing new Forget Clinch or Role Club, you’d probably get a better product from any of the standard brands in the $8–1200 range1 point

I like it, probably because it’s a buzz . It’s a bit shapeless, sleeves are a bit tight. I guess it’s a vintage fit that they reproduced. But after a few hours of wear it molds nice. The quality is oke. I, d like to get another one , orange and or grey. but not sure wether to go with the same size or size up. But I’m afraid that a bigger size fits like a sack. I’d rather have a slightly to small top than a slightly to big. In pant I prefer too big1 point

Just came back from watching the Bikeriders movie. Pretty good. Not gonna post spoilers. Matt Codina from Codina Leather made belts for Tom Hardy in the movie.1 point

Good point Julian, hadn't considered applying those. Another point I should've mentioned is that I've also been considering the JM Weston 180 loafer in beechnut suede. The JM Weston seem a bit more dressy and my style is more casual, but I saw some in person in Paris and they were really well made.1 point
